NEWLY released Nav CDs??
I've heard that Chrysler released a new set of updated CDs for the navigation system in the Crossfires. Supposedly it was released around April of 2007 and it includes 3 CDs instead of 2. Both of my navigation systems came with 2 CDs. Has anyone received a set with their car that included 3??
Hmm...well I'm not giving up yet...someone from Becker told me that new CDs are available...I'll keep checking..thanks for the info though
I spoke with my dealer last week, as far as they knew it was just the 04 version. But my local dealer basically sucks though??

There is new nav information available from NavTech, the providers of the map data. I wrote them an email inquiring about it late Friday. I'll post the response when I hear from them. It looks like if it is available it may be $200.
It does seem strange that they keep offering this NAV unit in the '08s still using '04 data.
I still think this format was abandoned since NAVTEQ went DVD. I bet we are SOL.

Check this out...I asked this guy and he confirmed that he has 3 CDs...and the picture of the CD's in the blue case is indeed different from any that I have seen. Mine is gray/black.eBay Motors: Chrysler Crossfire Navigation Radio with Antenna (item 120275109285 end time Jun-27-08 20:30:00 PDT)

Or AT LEAST ASK FOR THE PART NUMBER ON THE DISC/CASE!
I just picked up nav cd's from the dealer.... There in a blue case too. I believe there is only 2. I'm going to check now.

NavTeq responded;
Thank you for contacting NAVTEQ. Although Daimler-Chrysler uses our map data we neither produce nor distribute the disks for the Crossfire. For information please contact your nearest authorized Daimler-Chrysler dealer.

Yeah, thanks for nothing NavTeq. Although if they didn't produce or distribute these discs, it means that their move to DVD doesn't necessarily preclude an update to the CD version. If Chrysler parses that data, then burns it to CD, it wouldn't matter what NavTeq did.
By the same regard, it also means that we may be able to get a hold of updated data from a DVD, rip it, then burn it to multiple CDs. As long as the format matches what the Nav unit's firmware can understand, we'd be good to go.
Does anyone have a newer Chrysler nav DVD that they could post an ISO from? I'm down for a little geek research, but I'll need a DVD to see if I can break it down to intelligible CDs.
I also contacted a couple local Chrysler dealers to see if they know whats up.
As a side note, I officially no longer use my TomTom Go. I didn't think the built-in nav system would do the job, but its surprisingly good.

I have been in close contact with Becker and Navteq, they update thier NAV CD's regularly....but will not be making one for the Chrysler Crossfires. Unfortunately Damiler Chrysler(DaimlerAG) holds the licensing rights for the Chrysler Crossfire NAV CD's as told to me by Navteq and Becker. The blue CD that you see in the ebay listing is not for the Chrysler Crossfire. If I am not mistaken (and this has been brought up before), The blue CD is for " DODGE & JEEP" vehicles only.

So the question is...has anyone been able to actually try a Becker CD or the "Dodge/Jeep" discs in a Crossfire NAV system?
