Had a flat the other day so finally busted out the tire fix kit crossfires come with. It sealed tire but when i drove a lil more the tire completely went flat down to rim, luckily the rim was saved. I am getting a new tire Wed as noone in Az has them in stock do i have to worry about any of the sealant leftover screwing up my new tire? Or does it mess up the valve stem or anything? Dont want to get the new tire on to find out it doesnt register pressure or anything because of that sealant stuff??

 

Haven't had the misfortures of getting a flat yet with my Xfire, knock on wood. I'm also curious to see the answer's to your questions.

 

The sealant is a mess. It all will need to be thoroughly cleaned from the rim and the valve stem inside before the new tire is mounted. In some cases it even ruins the valve stem as it is also the TPS (tire pressure sensor)
In the future carry a tire repair plug kit and a pair of needle nose pliers. then simply use only the air compressor to fill your tire after plugging the whole. Good Luck ,Valk
