Default Overheard Parking lot Comments

I pulled into a local grocery store parking lot the other day with my window down, and I overheard one person say to an other, "I don't know what it is, but I think it's that new RX7.

Then later the same day I came out of a Sears Hadware Store and found a beat up old pick-up truck parked a few spaces away from my car. Standing next to the bed of the truck was some guy who looked just like the actor Sam Elliott, from the move "Road House" wearing dirty coveralls, and a stained t-shirt.
He asked me if I wanted to buy another one, and I said no, but I know of someone who might.
He said it was a red automatic, and the lady kept it in a heated garage. It had a V12, and must have been an older one than mine because it looked better. More like a James Bond car. He then went on to tell me where it was at. I thanked him for the info, and I'd keep it in mind.
Now this is the 2nd. person to tell me about the seldom seen V12 Crossfires, so there must be some truth to the rumors. After all, how could two different "Car Guys" be wrong.

Maybe you should check it out. A nice Ferrari for cheap money would be a good find. Or it could be another viper for you. If he doesn't know the car he more than likely doesn't know the engine size either.

I forgot to finish the story. "Sam" told me the car was just off Tallmadge Circle on South West Ave. at a house that had a sign in the front yard that says, "READER and ADVISOR".
That's when I thought to myself, "If her Crystal Ball didn't give her a heads up about how quickly the Crossfire was going to depreciate, then she must not be that good at seeing into the future". Some "Physic" she is.

I just went to "Google Earth", and typed in: "Tallmadge Circle Ohio" and her house is the 2nd. one off the circle with a sign in the front yard. There's even a red car on the road directly in front of her house. lol.

Laugh all you want... last year I was told about a Jaguar that had been in an old guy's garage for years. I thought about it for a couple of days, and then went hunting. Well, what I found was a Ferrari 275 GTB with fried wiring and a shot interior, parked under a lean-to out back of a barn. Judging from the tags the car had been off the road since the late 70s. The owner was of the opinion that he might get around to restoring it "some day", but he might be persuaded to sell. A quick survey indicated that I'd probably dump something in the neighborhood of $250k into the restoration, which made his asking price of $1m "as-is" way out of my league. The point is, if you don't go look... you'll never know.
