Default Need Insurance Advice!!

so i was at the track last night and rear ended someone while in line to race.. no police report was filed. the other driver is cool with me just replacing his bumper and not going to his insurance. i was told that ins companies will not cover you at a track. is that true? thanks in advance!

What damage was done to your car? Why would insurance not cover it? You were not racing when the accident occured.

my only advice is to be honest, because if the insurance company thinks you're trying to pull a fast one, they'll crawl so far up your *** you'll feel like you're sitting on a pair of loafers. they will do anything to not pay a claim.

Well, without telling you to lie, I would ask if you had raced any at all that night before the accident, and next, were you racing when the accident happened? If the answer is yes, then I would go to your agent and tell him what happened. He will have to determine if he considers this racing...staging is part of racing, but following a group of cars on a private road isn't...it's up to you, but I would work on your agent before I claimed the accident...

Oh, and by the way, most ins co want a police report on damages above $1000 which you will have for sure....at least in my state...

the agent may determine it's one thing, and the claims adjuster (or worse, investigator) may determine another.

i do not see this ending well, or inexpensively.

Just tell you agent the truth, and let the chips fall they they do. That's all you can do. Hopefully since you were not actually on the track they will consider it a true accident. You never can tell.

WOW! That is pretty severe damage! As far as the insurance thing goes, when you entered the grounds you have to sign a release of liability. I wonder if how that document is worded will have an impact on a claim??
