Default New owner from Miami!

Hi everyone! I bought my crossfire 3 months ago and I absolutely love it. It's a 2004 but since it only had 23,000 miles on it I had to take it. It runs beautifully (I should know I just got a $224.00 speding ticket : ) lol but today I noticed a small, almost whistling sound. The noise is low pitched and just comes and goes, not continuous. I turned off the radio to make sure it wasn't the cd, but the noise continued. Nothing on the dash is lit up so I'm assuming it can't be that serious. I got the oil changed this past Saturday but I doubt that has anything to do with it.

Can you guys please help?

more info? Is it a constant whistle, does it go off when the a/c is on/off, louder as you go faster, etc? I'm also in Miami...

Hi and thanks for the quick response. Basically it sounds as soon as the engine is on. I tried shutting off the ac and radio but the noise continued. I don't think accelerating/decelerating is a factor either because the minute I turned the car on when I left the office, while in park, the noise started. It's not continuous but it comes and goes.

Hi Cristy and welcome to the " Best Lil XFire Forum on the Net " Congrats on your new ride.
As to your whistling noise ??? Something like that would be difficult to diagnose without actually listening to the car ! I would recommed that you find a good mechanic to give it a listen. Good luck !

If there is a CD in the stereo it will continue to make noise even if the stereo is off. If you haven't already, try ejecting the CD and see if the noise continues.
Good luck.

Hi Christy09
Hmmm, another Miamian, Ok........so what part of lala land do you live BLC is in the Miami lakes area I believe, I am in Doral. Where are the pictures of your XF. What color is it? Is it a ragtop or coupe?????????????

So many questions... We need more details.

As you can probably guess from the pictures below, I have two SRT's. Really I have one and my daughter claims the other one. At least she sez "possession is 90 percent of the law". What are you gonna do.

Maybe we should be thinking of a Miami GTG.

If you see a black SRT with a red wing and red rims that one belongs to Ashley. Mine is just the plain looking Black SRT, but with a few extras under the hood.

What dealer are you using? Where did you buy the XF? Has the whistle been there since the day you bought your XF?

Hi Christy and welcome to another fellow Miamian. Without being able to hear the sound myself it is a bit difficult to diagnose the problem. I'm in the Miami Lakes area and had a great experience with Potamkin Chrysler and Randy has a great contact at Tamiami Chrylser.

Let us know which dealer you decide to go with so we can give you a specific contact name.

Good luck and takes pics of your new ride when possible.

Thanks everyone, I'm actually taking it in tomorrow so I'll keep you posted. As for the car, its black exterior with two tone (red and black) leather interior. I live near Doral as well but I never see too many XF's.

Interesting that you live near Doral. I don't believe you. LOL I have never seen another Black XF besides my 2 and my neighbor in Costa del Sol. So......... I think that you live somewhere else and just say you live near Doral.

Then again other then 41/36 st and the Turnpike to Grand Palms I don't get out much. Golf/work/golf/clean SRT/ golf/clean SRT/work/wax SRT.

I did see a graphite XF at 715 this morning turning south on 87 ave.

PS Where near Doral do you live? The picture in my signature is at 41 st and 102 ave at Doral Park.
