1st gear on my 05 6spd is really low. I find on most rolling stops, I can take off from 2nd without riding the clutch. Also it seems easy to rev 4th gear up a little farther and go straight into 6th on the freeway ramps.

Anyone else notice this?

 

Very seldom does my first gear get used, but I do go through the rest of them just to hear the engine!

 

I skip around a lot too. I rather use second in bad weather (ice, snow not rain) to start than first. Skip 5th a lot.

I might be bi-polar, one minute I'm driving the 6 speed like Mario Andretti & the next minute I'm coasting down a long slope in neutral ( to save the planet)!!!

 

I suppose you could use it like a 3 spd and go 2, 4, 6 if you go easy. I might try it when I get home. My last 3 spd was a 68 Camaro with a hurst 3 spd on the floor.

 

i use 1st,2nd then if the speed limit is 50 or so i skip to 6th. if i'm pulling onto the interstate ill run through thris until i hit 70 and then go to 6th
