might have screwed up the locks :(
ok, so this is my geniousnesss............ lol
so as everyones, my trunk lock line was torn in half, so i found this small 1/2" in length pipe that just slips over the original pipe,
i coated it with superglue inside the 1/2" length pipe then i put it over one end of the pipe on the car, let it dry, the original then i did the same for the pipe on the hatch side, i let it dry for a while and tested it. voila, trunk locks and unlocks now!!!
so i go to try it this morning.
the passanger door and trunk stay locked. the gas cap is locking and unlocking and the drivers is working fine.
even when i open the passanger door by the door handle, the lock keeps trying to stay locked, it wown't stay unlocked.
what should i do?
anyway to unlock a locked hatch if there's no vacuum pressure to it?
thanks for any help

there are three pipes that come out of the lock/unlock vac pump: Drivers Side Door, Passenger Side Door/Rear Hatch and the Fuel Door. There is a " T " in the line behind the interior panels right next to where the fuel door with a wersbo fitting there. I'd recommend just getting some new airline from a shop that works on semis and replace the part that cracked. The pipe you'll need is what they would use for behidn the dash for the air pressure and brake gauges. You may have it sealed up with the superglue but it could have ran down from the crack and into the rest of the system and is blocking the pipe. I don't know why it would want to try to stay locked but perhaps it has enough vacuum in the line or something. Hopefully, you didn't get any superglue into the pump and bugger that all up.
Hope you get it working right.
Hope you get it working right.
Do you have a coupe or roadster? If it's a roadster, there is a sensor in the cover for the top. If it doesn't think the cover is completely closed, it won't let you open the trunk.
This happened to me a couple of days ago. If yours is a roadster, try cycling the top up and back down completely again.

hey, it's a coupe. no easy switch here
ok so i got the trunk open!!!!!
ok this is what i did. i pulled down the top of the hatch, (by teh 3'rd break light) and pulled out the yellow tube from the clotch tape surrounding it, it was already broken between the hatch and body so i just pulled it till i could get to the open end, i blew thru the pipe, and it clicked YAY. it unlocked.
ok so i took off teh trunk right carpet, the pipes are all clogged. both to the door and from teh hatch (this i will replace. to the door, i'm gonna try finding where it's actualy clogged, then i might just put in a drop of paint thinner to loosen the glue.
i'm gonna try this on teh broken pipe first.
the T junktion is ok, the pump is ok, it's blowing and sucking air.
Why couldnt' it all be electric acutators. wtf with air. gay

Glad to hear you got it figured out though. Kinda wonder about why the plastic got brittle and cracked. that stuff is usually pretty resiliant and tough and takes a lot to mess up. If I were you, I'd take the time to just run a whole new line tothe hatch instead of patching the hose that went bad because you don't know what's in the lines now and with you getting it all unlocked, bee a good time do that. Would hate to see thie being the precursor to something going wrong with all of them. You know how hard it is to crawl over this center console in our cars if you're not a midget(in all political correctness, little person).
Good luck and let us know how it goes.
