Does a spare for the Crossfire actually exist?
I'm getting pretty close to making a decision on a Crossfire, but the whole "no spare tire rule" kinda has me concerned. I LOVE the car, but not too crazy about applying some stupid gobbly-glue to a flat tire. I mean, even my Miata has a donut!... Any alternatives? Has anyone ever been stranded even after applying the glue and filling the tire? Is this now a common practice with car companies not to include a spare or even a donut these days? What Crossfire competition also fails to include a donut and simply supplies the glue and pump instead?

99% of all flats can be attributed to nail or screw type punctures. My solution was to buy a plug kit and store it next to the air pump along with a few tools. So far Ive used it once with good results. It really is much less work than jacking, dismounting a flat then installing a donut.
Bill,
Bill,
Also remember roadside assistance, I got an additional 7 years with the prchase of my 05 roadster. With a cell phone and a credit card are you really stranded ?
Just my .02 cents

That being said.. take a look at why you don't have a spare.. 18's in the front 19's in the back, and look at the trunk. Now, are you really complaining?
Mr.B, there a MILLIONS of motorcycle riders on the highways (and off road) that don't let the lack of a spare tire destroy their enjoyment. So don't let it stop you from enjoying the best sports car bargain on the planet.
As Inferno Red pointed out, some people have purchased a Mercedes donut for extra peace of mind, and having a good plug repair kit is a great idea.
Different tire diameters shouldn't cause any significant problems, some Mercedes models come with different front and rear tires and still come with just one spare tire.
AAA isn't a bad idea either.

Hello Everyone ! I have been a Forum member for a while now, but this my first time on a posting, I have really enjoyed this forum and all the information avilable on this wonderful car. I recently traded in my 2004 Inferno Red auto coupe with 45K .
for a brand new 2007 Saphire Silver Blue Ltd Coupe with 16 miles on it.
Before trading I looked at other cars in this catagory such as a Pontiac Solstice,Saturn Skye, etc. Most did not have a spare, just a can of goo! and a pump. I Chose a Crossfire Again because none of them offered All of the combined qualities of a Crossfire. They each had there points of value but fell short in others. None of the others give me that " Perm-a-Grin" as they say on this forum, every day I drive this car.
