Default Fixes for complaints

I'll offer two fixes, one I know works while the other is not fully tested yet.

The first regards the exhaust carbon in the stainless tips at the end of the exhaust pipes. Mine were not bad with so few miles on the car but it will work for all. Just spray WD 40 on the blackened area and wipe until clean. Repeat if necessary. It shouldn't take long before they look like new.

Before there were any rock chips etc. on our car I took it to a shop in Boise to have a transparent Bra installed. A bit pricey at $750 but well worth it I think. I also bought the traditional Bra just-in-case but have not used it yet. The transparent Bra covers the front end of the car and the mirrors and include the headlight covers (that oxidize as you watch them) and the fog light lens (that are said to crack for the same reason). I do not believe the headlight covers will haze beneath the transparent Bra material. Only time will tell!

Transguard (208-319-0863) apparently has computer generated patterns to cut the many necessary pieces for a kit. Although I have not contacted the shop I'd wager they would cut the protective lens covers and ship them to those in need.

I believe one flyer said that the lens would withstand a 1" rock at 120 mph without damage. Impressive if true! You could verify those figures with them. We made a trip to Seattle recently and did impact some rock on the road but I can find no visible damage. Winter will bring on even more damaging rock along with the de-icing sand.

I have been using the clear bra on my SSB since I bought it and also had it on my '04 SSB coupe. Two years total expierence with it and I LOVE it. I just wish I could affor to have the whole hood covered. Some rocks like to hit further up the hood. I havent put it on the Aero yet as I really need to get some small nick/chips fixed before I put it on.
