Default Tires and cargo capacity

The prices on tires in Canada are rediculous, so I plan on driving into Buffalo to get a set. Cheapest option is for me to order them to a US address and them have the tires installed stateside.

The big question is can I fit all for tires in the car so I can drive them to the install location?

Anybody ever try this?

And to answer the obvious question, yes, the savings are substantial.

Better to have the seller install them than to screw up your interior.

If you use some old sheets to protect the upholstery, open the hatch and use rope to tie one of the tires in the hatch opening I think you can do it. I've transported 3 tires mounted on wheels this way. With a little creativity you can move an amazing amount of stuff with an XF.

I had my tires dropped shipped to the install location from tires direct..no need to transport them then.

You can fit all 4 tires in the vehicle.

Just order from TireRack.com and have them shipped to your local service center. They definitely deliver to Canada. I'm getting a set of Eagle F1's when the winter weather hits around here. Cost with shipping is only $726.36. Not bad.

What he said... But make sure you arrange it in advance with the destination - and get a name of the person there who knows what you're doing - then put their name on the invoice as "c/o" so the shipper has a belly button at both ends. I've done this and it's a real time saver.
