Just wanted to say that dealer is going to replace my headlight lenses because of haze. Just wondering if there is anything I can do to stop this problem from reoccuring. Warantee is about to run out and I doubt that new lenses would be covered after that.

 

By haze, do you mean foggy lenses? The covers on my headlights were hazing, like covered in a fine film of dirt on the outside, I just used some of the polish I use on my paint and it buffed right out, then I covered the lenses with a coat of wax and buffed out......they look brand new! I never had foggy lenses from the inside, but by reading many posts here have found that many have had this issue and there was a TSB issued on this. Good luck!!

 

Thanks for the info. My lenses were not actually foggy but had a rough to the touch area on the outside. Both lenses had rough areas on the upper part of the lense. I'm surprised the dealer agreed to replace them without an argument. This is the first time I have used this dealer so they will defenitely get business from me. Three times this forum has helped me out and I have only had the car a couple weeks. Once for the lens problem, once for a nail in a tire fixed by using a tire plug kit recommended here, and today I bought a wedge type cupholder that I think will work just fine. By the way, the dealer is Pischke Mtrs. West Salem, Wi.

 

you can buy a product called plast-x that will polish them right up. walmart sells it.

if it is etched in too much use 2000 grit sandpaper then polish it with plast-x. it is really easy to do.
