Hey guys good news and some bad for some..... We may not be able to offer paint for more then one reason.

1) There are not enough people who want paint, and with our painter flaking out on our last customer (Jose) we do not want to have this happen to anyone else. We can find another painter no problem they are all over the place, but this such a huge group buy having someone mess up skirts or not do the quality we expect the first time around is not worth having unhappy customers.

2) These will be shipped to us on a pallet from the factory with each set wrapped individually but not in boxes. Hopefully this doesn't sound alarming to anyone who has ordered body panels before they usually do tons of layers of bubble wrap and shrink wrap.

3) Shipping, we can have a flex additive put into the paint but without boxes still is not worth the chance with your pillars and money.

4) The dreaded trimming to fit and drilling holes. Every car is different no two crossfires are going to fit together exactly the same. There may need to be a trim here and a cut here, we are guess from our experience with other body kits but you just don't know. As for drilling holes, they will need to be drilled and marked to line up with the screws. It is not possible to make a fiberglass mold with the holes already cut out. This might not seem like a huge problem but if we were going to paint them we would have to take the time to test fit every side skirt and drill the holes out for you.

5) Last but not least is paint matching. I tend to forget that not everyone lives in MN and stores their car 6-7 months out of the year. Therefore those who live where they are able to drive their car year round may have a slightly faded color to their paint. Would this be noticeable if we painted them maybe yes maybe no but again why even take the chance.

To ease your mind any reputable autobody shop will fit these and paint these to match your car for $300 dollars or less. Color sanding, extra layers of clear and sanding between coats is quite a bit more expensive but sometimes the results speak for themselves.

Once again I am sorry to break this to you on the day the prototype skirts are finished but me and Rudy talked it over tonight and feel like this is really in the best interest of everyone.

Last Note of the day, I am going to be collecting the rest of the deposits up front. We came up with the Idea that everyone send their total $350 and roughly an extra $85-$115 for insured shipping. We will refund the difference to you. Local pickup is also welcome for free. So total is $465 + or - your refunded price once these are ready to ship. We were going to ship one at a time as soon as they were done but we have decided it is more fair to wait untill they are all done to ship we are looking at anywhere to 6-8 weeks like stated WAY BACK ON PAGE ONE lol.... Can you believe it? Any questions feel free to PM me or rudy anytime. Also you can get ahold of us RIGHT away @

Jon@jr-industries.net
Rudy@jr-industries.net

Those who allready paid for paint will have that applied towards shipping and refunded the rest.

JonnyA, this all sound reasonable to me. However, the part I'm not understanding is how the wholes are not all positioned the same for all skirts. If we bought an OEM replacement skirt, wouldn't they all be the same? I mean, they are engineered to fit the car while on the assembly line, right?

Jonny,
That sounds acceptable. It just means that I (we) have to go find a local shop. The good side is we get to choose who gets to do the job. I think these look great and would love to see that proto set painted to match the car. (the you could just send them to me for the Aero )

Looking forward to getting the skirts..

It's been a loooong time since I've had to have any body work done. And even when I did I went through my dealer. Any suggestions on what to look for or ask when shopping for a shop to do this type work?

Do a search for different shops in the area and then do a search on those shops to see what comes up. Speak with them about it and ask to see pictures of kits they have put on. Also, find out what their price is and ask to speak with the person that will be doing it. Just the norm for figuri9ng out which shop to use. these will be as easy as a putting on a bumper cover for most body shops. Tune/Speed/Pro shops are the ones you want to be careful of. They're handy with the wrenches but no wrenches need to be involved with installing these skirts!

Feel free to email me if you have a question about a shop or if they have questions regarding them and I will be more than happy to respond.

Thanks

We have several shops in Dallas that specialize in highend imports. I may start with them.

Macco would be an excellent shop to go to. Can I also recommend that you ask them to use wood screws to attach the sideskirts and ask them about their over spray and runs galore special!

For any members in the Chicago area I strongly recommend White Eagle Auto Body in Naperville
I have had several repairs made over the years and the quality and service is #1
Give them a call and ask for Oscar

They do decent work... we sell parts to them. Seeing as how the dealership I work for owns a body shop I should recommend our shop but i dont. Colors on parade in St.Charles (behind Mercedes-Benz of St.Charles and Sage Bistro) does amazing work. Plus I can get us discounts.
