7 1/2% to buy out my lease. I would have probably traded it for a new one but I have over 50,000 miles so I'd get killed on the extra miles...

$336.02/month @ 5.75%

Car went for $25, and I put $7,500 down.

I was going to pay cash, but my APR was too low. I put the cash I was going to use in a CD that pays 8%.

Sure, it's only effectively earning me 2.25%, but I'm glad I did it now, considering the recent interest rate trends.

First off; welcome to the forum! I'm an old fart and paid cash for my 04 with 25500 miles. At your age your loan isn't that bad. The guy that originally purchased it probably paid in the 30k range. Looking at it that way you got a steal!! These cars are so under valued for what you get. Most importantly enjoy your purchase. Now get out there and wax that baby!!

2007 Base coupe. Purchased April 2008. $250/mo, 10.6% APR. First new car purchase.

No co-signer, no one elses name on the lien. Though I did have an in with the ownder of the dealership, which helped the price some.

Previous car was a 1994 Blazer, $2600 cash. Got $1000 for it on the trade-in and was ecstatic.

EDIT: 23 miles on the ODO when purchased. She was new.

Would you like to know my mortgage, 403b, and credit card info too?

Oh yeah, Jets Seasons tickets just went up too, so let me get all my finances together and I'll report back.

I see your a retired police officer and now own your own trucking business . . . Where did you get your vast knowledge of auto industry and how dealers work? From one innocent thread you ridicule the young buyer and his parents, condemn the dealer and then boast about your cash reserve. Congratulations, you must be so proud.
