Pulled over while driving the Crossfire
What is the strangest reason that the cops have given you for being pulled over while driving the Crossfire?
This morning, on my way into work, a cop pulled me over, after he walked up to my window and I showed him my liscanse, for some reason he didn't ask for my registration, but then he asked the following:
"Sir, I've never seen a vehicle like this, is it a prototype, or some sort of concept car?"
Needless to say I was not expecting a question like that, so I told him that it's a 2005 Chrysler Crossfire. He asked me if they were still selling them, and I told him that the last one rolled off the asembly line in May of 2008, and told him that he might be able to get a used one, then he let me go on my way...

The cops use Dodge Chargers here in St.Charles, Missouri. They look pretty rad with the doors blacked out and the white Police logos. I gave one of em the thumbs up at a stop light and he lit up the tires when the light turned green. Sometimes, I think I should have been a cop!!!

So I guess you were pulled over for DUICF.
Driving Under the Influence of a CrossFire
Explain that to your insurance company!

We were not so lucky,we got stoped and the cop asked what kind of car it was and,as always my hubby was going to fast so we got ticket for going 70 in a 55.He should have kept his big foot off the gas.Anyway the cop did to ask where he could get one and did not know they still made 08s.He even looked under the hood.Really nice guy.We were on our way to the Dragon tail ,he did tell us to watch out for more cops as they heard about the run there.
bit by the Dragon, and you weren't even there yet...I've been stopped a few times...no offense James if you are watching....but I HATE Ohio troopers in the Defiance Area....and I hope they are watchin', now I haven't had any other problems w/ Ohio troops in the rest of the state...nor any other state for that matter...and I do tend to speed just a little...

Here's my story, (incase anybody missed it the first time).

I did get stopped one time about 4 years ago in my Viper for no front plate.
The OHP, Trooper also accused me of not wearing my seatbelt, and not having a "county" sticker on my rear plate (which I did).
I explained to him that the seatbelt originates over the drivers "right" shoulder instead of his left in the Viper, and that the belt is black, and I was wearing a black t-shirt at the time, and that may have been why he didn't notice I had my seat belt fastened. It must have been too much logic for him to "compute" because he wasn't buying it. But he was going to do me a favor and not cite me for it.
Then while writing me out a "warning" for no front plate, he asks me how I liked the Viper, and how fast I had it up to? That's when the real reason for stopping me suddenly became very clear to me.
I'm sure when he got back to the office to "clock out" he told all his fellow "Bears" about pullin a snake over.
If you can't tell, I have nothing but the highest respect for the Ohio Highway Patrol.

oldoc2u,
Yeah Defiance troopers know how to generate revenue LOL.I live there. Most of them are OK guys but some are true "dicks".My dad is a retired cop here in town.US 24 is a true speed trap between Ft.Wayne IN. and Toledo. You can avg. about 1 trooper every 10 miles and with all the US 24 construction its a gold mine for the state right now-double fines- 45MPH -.They are just finishing up a 4-5 mile 4 lane stretch down the rode from me that wont open til spring-beautiful 4 lane straight away- and theres a way to acess it too.God I would love to run my 6 on it before it opens!!!.But my wife about sh-t when she read the post about 186 mph.Just might have to exercise the gonads and give it a run---------------Dave

now that would be grt DAVE...lets do 186 by the @sshole I met...I'm trying to recall his name, funny name....anyway, they were just posting the 45 and I hadn't been thru there in awhile, I was doing 59 w/ cruise on...I see the 45 replacement sign and him at the same time...wrote me for 60 in a 45 construction zone...I told him I wasn't in the zone yet when he saw my speed on his radar...and ask when they had changed the speed limit...wasn't any construction going on yet, it was right in front of their post...make a long story short, I had to drive all the way back up there to Defiance court...he didn't show, I pleaded not guilty, judge was nice to me only because I am a cop, and trained in the use of 3 different types of radar...or they would have fined me for sure...it is a racket up there...the other point I made to the judge, is only the state can change a speed limit, by act of the Commissioner of State Highway Dept, and signed off by your legislature...or everyone would have a speed trap...
Doc,
I pm'ed you.The judge here in Defiance is an old life long friend of mine.Good guy,but would hate to go up in front of him trying to explain 175+ on a closed highway LOL------------------Dave
