Unfortunately I don't have a picture.. I dropped my old GPS unit and broke it

But my Max speed registered at 138 MPH.. !!

I too had a Garmin unit.. Garmin Nuvi 350 to be exact!

Edit: It was interesting when my Mom saw it.. I told her I had brought it along on the trip for spring break on the plane... she didn't say anything but I think she sorta knew

N o GPS. And keep in mind, I drive a truck for a living and doing this could end my career. But on one fine day with 2 mile visability on a 55 mph road I had it up tp 135. seemed to have plenty left but I was losing sight distance and felt that was enough for the day. When people ask how fast I've had it up to I tell them 80 mph... over the speed limit. Sure would like to see 150 someday though.

I'm in the same boat as Rush, my career depends on my CDL, although I am not a truck driver. But coming home from the Dream Cruise I managed to tag along with a few others.

I have two Garmin GPS, one for the car and one handheld. the handheld is handy because it 'tracks' where you have been, then you upload the 'trail' to your PC and view it on a map or Google Earth.

Neither are never accurate on Max Speed. I can reset them, drive to work, drive no faster than 45mph, and get a Max Speed reading of 90 or more. I assume when it looses signal for a short time then catches up, it thinks you really went fast.

I agree with James on the max. speed being way off at times.
Hull speed on my sailboat is 6.5 knots. but I've seen a max speed of over 20?

My Garmin's readings have always correlated perfectly with the speedometer's readings, if anything my top speed was higher I think....as you have to maintain a top speed for X amount of time before the Garmin registers that speed.

I had to replace my fronts a couple of weeks ago....the car was out of alignment from the factory & the fronts were really worn on the outer treads + one had a slipped belt....as an emergency replacement was called for I went with a Cooper All Season tire on the front.....I'm happy with them....but (at least not yet), Cooper doesn't make that tire in 255 /35/19 for the rear.

Anyone have the General Exclaim ? Tire Rack specs say they have a tread pattern / depth etc that meets an All Season requirement ....BUT (maybe due to temp-compound) they don't recommend they be used as such??????

No offense is ment by the following comment, but I'm not crazy/dumb enough to try to take a pic of my speedometer while I'm driving.
I'd be too afraid that would be the time the trafiic around me decides to do something retarted, like suddenly change lanes, or slam on their brakes.
Anyway, my GPS, a Garmin, is always pretty accurate.
I don't think that it's ever been off by more then one mile an hour.

EDIT: spelling & an addition

Chris L - you are current king of the "picture". I've had my roadster to 140 and my SRT6 to 150+ before running out of safe road. I wouldn't take a picture of the speedo but I'll pack my Garmin next time. I frequently run the car to over 100 when passing and it records the max accurately. Any challenge will have to wait until spring since hitting ice at very high speeds has unfortunate results and deep snow tends to cut down on the top end.

I was going to add a comment, but I think you have confirmed my opinion after this last post.
