In need of new keys!!!
I'm sure there is a post about this already, But I have one key fob that won't work remotely, but still starts the car. The other one is broken where it would attach to a key ring, and looks very worn. So I need atleast one, but prefferably two new ones. I tried emailing the local chrysler dealership, with no response. Thought I would see where you guys are getting yours, and what to expect to pay for one, or two. I understand programming isn't an issue. Do they just need your vin number to get the right key? Thanks in advance, chris
If the key starts the car you should be able to program the remote. Put the key in the ignition and within 1 or 2 seconds press one of the lock or unlock button twice then turn the key to run/start and it should program it to lock and unlock it.

VIN# and proof of ownership. I have seen people get them for $90-$150, my dealer wants $148. There are plenty of threads on the topic here too, might just need to try different search words. Good luck.

This is straight from the Crossfire manuals supplied to the dealership, or if you are a Chrysler tech, I got it from Tech Connect.

The Key can still start the car if the transmitter goes bad. Mine did the same thing. I had to take my VIN and Registration to the dealer so they could order new keys. They cost about $100 each and according to the dealer required the keys to be programmed using the Chrysler Diagnostic tool. ( Although I never tried the procedure above )
Some Parts stores have a Key Fob tester that will test if a signal is coming out of the transmitter. Most Autozone stores have them. I would try that first.
I am now very careful with my keys now. Mine died after my 2 year old dropped them.
