Default Can this be legit?

Hi, i am 16 and looking for my first car. i have been racing karts since i was 10, and my dad takes his mustang to the strip frequently, so naturally i wanted something fast for my first car. I decided i really liked the SRT-6 and found one listed for really cheap but i am wondering why it is so cheap... its only got 22k miles and is listed for 13.995? how can this be possible? there are 05 limiteds going for higher than that. My question basically is do you think theres something wrong with it causing the price to drop? if we were to buy this one it would be bought before we got a chance to see it as all the srt6 listings are far away and my dad will not make another trip. here is the listing on autotrader....

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...standard=false

thanks for any help/suggestions

Boy, I don't know. It's a heckuva' price. Have you phoned and asked questions? That should be your first move. The price might be knocked down for a problem, but this forum is the place to figure out fixes.

Good luck, and happy hunting!

The carfax showed that it was in an accident early in its life, but it was then later certifed used by a Chrysler dealer. That ding is probably helping drop the price

Looks like it could be legit. The CarFax report checks out. It looks like it was a corporate vehicle, then was sold and became a private vehicle. There was one accident, but it wasn't sold until a year later which likely indicates that the repair went well.

Give them a call and ask some questions. Test drive it to see if it feels ok. I'd recommend an extended warranty for 4 or 5 years just to cover your butt.

Yes it WAS legit and sorry but you're too late. I bought it last week and picked it up Tuesday. The previous owner was another forum member and he steered me straight on the condition of the car so I knew what to expect before I headed up to do the deal. Gotta luv this forum . Good luck with your search.

He had it listed both here and on Autotrader for a while with no takers. From what I understand he traded it in on a BMW and they cut him a nice deal on the purchase side. The dealership priced the SRT to move it (minimal markup over trade allowance). It's one of those win-win stories for all involved.

Who was the member If you don't mind me askin'?

I don't remember seeing a SRT listed here in the past couple of years for anything under 15k, much less under 13k.

You list a SRT on this forum for 15k or less and it'll sell in minutes!

There's a srt-6 the bay area for $14,995 with 16k miles with a clean carfax so that price could be legitimate.

If there is any truth to the other threads about these cars going for 10 -11k on the dealers block that is a pretty good price. It was good to see some of the Roadsters selling in the 20k. I know roadsters are rare and more to begin with but I think the bottom is approching.

I was the forum member who was selling the car before I traded it in. The car was legit and obroadway got the car for an excellent price. I was a little unhappy to trade it for such a low price, but I got a really good deal on my new car. I am happy somebody on the forums picked it up though.
