Sleet...
Well, it's our first round of real winter weather here in Yukon,OK. We have at least 1/2" of frozen rain and/or sleet on the ground this morning. I get to see how our little German built beauties handle on this stuff. At least I have a 6 speed and not an auto. Will report back later.
We have snow, light snow maybe 2-3 inches for today before it changes to sleet and freezing rain then rain tomorrow. Main roads here are fine, side streets covered and usually don't get cleaned til the storm passes. My car is home in the garage, I'm on foot today.

I went with the 275/30/19 's on the rear and I was going to get the fronts on today but too much sleet came down last night. Just to give you an idea though I drove 45 minutes in the crud to get to the place to put the tires on and they told me the delivery truck could not make it there and we had a good laugh at that one. They get you around in the snow pretty well and when I was in places today where it was just plowed road with rain on the ground I could accelerate pretty hard in a straight line with no loss of traction. So far I'm impressed with the generals and I only have the two rears on the car
Ohh and I went to the bank today and was talking to one of the Bankers and he asked me what size tires are on the car because when I pulled up he noticed how wide they were and said it looked really aggressive with that wide of tires. So far so good...I'll keep everyone updated on them.
By the way I had the Michelin Pilot Sports on before and I'm not a big fan of them at all.

Now it makes me wonder if I've ever seen you around town before..haha I just think it's funny because everyone is like ohh that car isn't going to make it out there and I've had no problems getting around the last two days
Whoa--not to hijack this thread, but I'm in Richmond, KY, so that makes four of us within 25 miles or so. As to the electricity issue, we did without for two days and the cable modem has been very spotty since the lights came back on night before last (I think I missed the net more than lights). We do have natural gas and a vent-free fireplace log set, so we could keep the chill off pretty well. As to ice damage, one big tree is down in the front yard (already cut up and piled by enterprising storm chasers) and significant damage to several others.
The Crossfire is holed up in the garage. I've not run it since driving back from Michigan where I bought it last week. This kind of weather is what Toyota pickups are for. It also helps that I'm retired and seldom have to leave the house except by choice.
Stay warm, guys.

we have power but there is a lot of Lexington that still is without it. Well I think the central KY group should meet up sometime since there are a few of us around here. Anybody know any hole in the wall places that are good toe at at around here?
