Need update -- Invisible Bra
I am new to the forum and have a new 2007. In researching the site, I found most of the input on invisible bra shields was from 2004/5. If you have had experience since then or have a update on the products I think the Forum could enjoy a follow up. Thanks. Really curious how they are lasting on the cars. Joe
i am a huge fan of the clear bras ... had one on my crossfire for 4 years... i have installed them on cars since the late 90's. most of the older film/products turn yellow over time (must noticeable on white cars). the newer products have improved the discoloring issue. i highly recommend an avery or 3M product.
xpel.com is a great company and shows an illustration of the patterns for each application. be certain to view one's work before committing to a particular installer. this is an art ... not all installers are created equal...

i applied the xpel headlight/foglamp protection several months ago. it seems like a quality product. the small headlamp pieces can be applied by an amateur without too much difficulty if the instructions are followed. after wet sanding and polishing my hazy headlamps and covering with the xpel product the hazing has not returned. i can see where it would take lots of experience to install the larger pieces (bumper, hood, etc.)

I can imagine. Are the other pieces thinner than the headlight protection? The headlamp lens films are surprisingly thick. I would think the other films are thinner since they must adhere to various curved surfaces.
I have had two Crossfires done with clear bra and I love it. The guy I use out here is an artist and they look great. You have to get right on top of them to see it. I can see no change in my current one on the SSB after one year.

I have Chrysler (black) bras on both my 2005s and they cause no problems. I remove them regularly to clean the underside and put extra coats of wax on the car where they touch. I also remove them when I store the cars for the winter. They are easy to remove and re-install. The roadster bra has been on for 4 summers and 32k miles, and looks new. Regular Armor-All helps.

i got an invisible bra and very happy with the results, i can see little dimples where rocks have hit the bra but not damaged the paint. I got in on the hood, bumper, fender, mirror, headlight, and foglight.
The bumper, fog light, and headlight came out perfect can't even tell it is there. The hood was a pain in the *** for the installer due to the design of the hood and i can see minor bubbles and the mirrors have small areas where there is bubbles. IT is a cosmetic issue and the installer said it would not affect performance but said after three months if the bubbles do not go away he will redo it free of charge even though it is only cosmetic.
I would not do it my self since it is not worth my time i got the compelete setup done for $500 installed out the door and the installer does contract work for dealers and has done a complete z06 kit, nissan gt-r and other high end vehicles.

faiz23, how much of the hood and fenders did you have done? I know where mine stops and I cant see it on yours.
Mine goes not quite to the middle of the front wheel. I also have the front of the mirrors, the edges of the doors and the handle pocket done. I need to get the rock chips fixed on the Aero and then have a clear bra put on it.

i will have to go out and check but if i recall correctly the guy said it covers up to 22" of the hood so i would say around a 1/3 of the hood and the fenders are about the same about a 1/3 of it i will try to find out.
I had an invisible bra put on today. IF any one is interested, I have some pictures. Some observations from today:
1. I worked hand and hand with the installer. I learned a great deal and like they say DO NOT attempt to do this at home without some guidance/assistance unless you have done this before. In my IMHO, it is NOT a DIY job the first time out especially with the large size pieces. This is coming from a guy who has done frame up restorations on three cars. I would attempt to do it by myself now but it took about 5.5 hours today. We did the hood, bumper, grill, lights, mirrors, the rockers and the back of the fender. We also did the door edges. I'm sure I missed something.
2. Estimates for the job ranged from $700 to 495. I got the rocker panels, fenders and quarter panels for free using some left over pieces and for helping.
3. The front was done in ONE piece and let me tell you that was worth the price of admission.
4. The owner ask me what color the car was and the condition of the car in our unitial phone conversation. In taking to him the darker the color and condition of the paint have a direct impact on the quality of the job. If I get a new car I would drive from the dealer to the place to have it done ASAP. Two years was a long time to wait even you can eat off the engine and I do take good care of the paint. Just driving from the house to the place on wet streets made it so I had to detail the care when I got there. The guy who did the job had 17 years experience in window tinting.
5. The place we did the work in was spotless amd heated. It really made a big diference.
