Default Hello xFire Peeps...1st Post w/a question

Well I'm tired of seeing the following message:

Hello FrankC,
Our records indicate that you have never posted to our site before! Why not make your first post today by saying hello to our community in our Introductions forum.

Why not start with your first post today and become an active part CrossfireForum.org forums now!
...so might as well say hello!

Just want to say thanks to all the DIY tips that I have read on here, just last week I installed the Remote Lock/Unlock Alarm Buzzer to my wifes 2007 Black on Black xFire. She LOVES it, btw.

Now on to the question, we bought a 2007 xFire base model in 2008 with 15 miles on it for what I thought was a STEAL <$16k, so I'm not complaining about owning the car, but I want to do some base model upgrades so-to-speak.

I have been reading the forum for a while now and haven't (maybe because I'm a noob) found a DIY for installing factory fog lights to a base model. Can you experts 'steer' me in the right direction?

Also, can you install subwoofers in between the seats and cargo area? There is a divider there that I think wound be a great place to house a sub for that little extra bassline in music. Help?

Thanks again for a nice forum.
FrankC

Welcome....glad you posted.

I'm not sure about the fog lights.

As for the "divider" between the seats and the cargo area......I'd be real careful drilling any holes there, that's where your gas tank is!

As far as subwoofers go, mine came with two 7 inch woofers behind the seats:

(the pair closest to the camera)

A lot of people have discussed putting two 6.5 inch aftermarket drivers in there, but I don't recall hearing about a successful installation. Personally, I don't know how much better aftermarket speakers would do. I took the factory drivers out, and put them in my Grand Cherokee, and it sounds like I have a 10 inch woofer. I have never heard aftermarket 6.5s do the same. They are very very good for OEM.

Welcome Frank,

I have the same car with the same questions.

I'll be monitoring your replies.

BTW, I think you have a cabin air filter if you have an 07
Check previous postings to find the filter location.

And I thought I had gotten the lowest price ever, but you beat me by a grand.

Enjoy,

Bruce

I also bought my 2007 black base coupe in 2008. It had 83 miles on it, and I got it for less than 16 grand too. I smile everytime I think of that. It's a great sports car!

Thanks for the welcome party.

Since I didn't get the SRT6, we didn't get all the bells and whistles that the Limited and SRT6 come with. It's not so bad tho, I enjoy DIY type of things and appreciate all the DIY type of upgrades that can be done to this vehicle.

I'm also part of a BMW car forum, which is also outstanding in technical and DIY threads.

Looking forward to seeing what I can do with the help of all you xFire owners.
