Default Possible new XFire Owner?

I am as you all can tell, new to this forum. After much research and thought, I have decided on 3 vehicles. The BMW 330ci, Infiniti G35, and the Chrysler XFire. But to be honest, I am leaning towards the XFire. I haven't driven one, so this should be an experience. I am looking at two different ones right now. Here they are: (2)

Check them out.
Drive them and I think you decision will be made instantly !!

Reasonable price for the mileage as well if in good condition.
These were 34,995 new as you probably know.

I was strongly considering the same 2 vehicles when I bought mine about 3 weeks ago. My mother has a '05 roadster down in Florida that I drive when I am down, it is very fun, but the automatic is less than desireable.

I bought a 6 speed coupe and what a wonderfully different car. I love everything about it, but you need to be aware that if this is a daily driver, as it is for me, it is a totally different animal than the 330 and G. Even if you were considering coupes in those two, they have backseats that are halfway functional (you could put cargo in there if need be as well). The crossfires are obviously not this way, as there is very little room for anything except in the rear hatch area. It is not a forgiving luxury car, it is a hard riding, excellent handling sports car that is a blast to drive, but every once in a while on a rough rode, it leaves me wanting a bimmer again. You really need to get out an drive one, they are amazing little cars, but you can't kid yourself, they are certainly not for everyone.

Good luck.

John

Thanks for the informative info. See, that's the thing. My current car (01' Hyundai Elantra) I drive daily, but have no use for the back seat. I don't really put much back there except my workout gear, backpack, and uniform (look at avatar). It drives me crazy to walk out to this car daily, realizing that I never use the back seat, and the trunk only for groceries. Single, and no kiddies to drive around. I feel like the only person I forsee rolling with me in any car, is the lucky lady, whenever that ever happens.

You have a dog uniform? Cool.

If you hang around long enough, this will not be the last smart a$$ remark you get. Welcome and get the right car.

Haha. I can take jokes and give jokes with the best of them. I left the door open I suppose. (insert smart a** remark here). I just test drove a 2005 coupe about 30 minutes ago. Let me say.........N.I.C.E.. Unfortunately, the color was not for my tastes. The power may not wow alot of people, but anything is more powerful than my POS. And, it would be an original purchase. I never see a XFire in Germantown, Md. I know that they are here and may be hiding, but rare nonetheless. It was a "pearlcoat red". I was looking more along the lines of gray, graphite gray, black, etc. It looks like I may have found the ride for me. Still need to test drive the G35 and 330. Still doing my research.

I think I'm gonna do it. This is the running candidate thus far. Wish me luck.

I'd probably go with lower mile one but that gray really looks good when clean.

We have had other officer/owners on the forum. I imagine that this ride will be a welcome change of pace from some big cruiser.

Where is the 6 speed love? My mother has an XF roadster with the auto in it and driving it is almost disappointing, with the 6 speed you feel more connected to the experience and its much more fun

Just my opinion.

I, on the other hand like the tiptronic as my daily driver. it gives me the best of both worlds. Many times I play with it in manual mode, but for my commute in heavier traffic it's just nice to put it in drive and experience the car. It really doesn't matter, there is no one right answer. I have the NA Ltd and am perfectly happy with it. The SRT would have been cool, but just more stuff to go wrong, and where would I really use it. I like my X just fine. As I always say about my motorcycles, ride what you like and like what you ride. And I do like my Cross.

Well, it is pretty much a done deal. I sign the paperwork for the XFire tomorrow. They may even deliver it too. I think I got a pretty sweet deal with tags, taxes, etc., included. I had to barter a bit, but then again it is an investment. Had them change out the summer tires for all-season ones. This will be the daily driver. I opted out of the extended warranty. It was a mark-up of nearly $1500 for 3 years. I'm sure I can find a better deal than that. That's the latest. Maybe after everything is done, I might give her a name? A guy can dream right?

Glad to hear you opted for the Xfire. Not a decision you will regret. I'm glad you chose the Xfire for more than just the fact we're all a little biased. I think the 330 is a little sluggish, if BMW was a must I would have said 335. The G35 is like a luxury civic in my opinion. THEY ARE EVERYWHERE. Which is the complete opposite of the Xfire...and the G37 smokes the G35...

When you do finally get delivery, take pictures so we can all see the new member of the family.
