Rear-window louver

Louvers only really helped if you had a hatch without tinting so it wasn't a travelling greenhouse, or if you had no choice but to drive in the winter and it prevented the hatch from being completely coated in ice.
I had a '86 (okay, the 80's....whoopie) Nissan 300ZX that had a louver that was a godsend when a) we lived in VA and I needed to drive to work in the winter, and when I drove it all the way to southern TX in July, that louver was the only thing that kept my cats alive since the a/c died before I left the state.
Louvers would IMHO, take away from the smooth appearance of the XF.

I wouldn't think it would interfere that much with visibility, as long as the fins were thin enough.

Had a set on my 75 Starfire. Thought at the time it was cool.
But, at the time, I thought bell bottom pants were cool also.
Cut down summer heat and the view into my hatch back.
Cut the view out of my hatchback as well.
And,
It wore out the gas shocks on the hatch door. Buggar was heavy.
I don't think it fits on my roadster and Cathy says no. Which kinda settles it for me.
NO.
That said, it did seem to spoil the aerodynamic lift. Not objecionable in appearance.
To each his own
roadster with a stick

People I need pics of louvers why may you ask. I found a company in buffalo ny that is willing to work with me. And maybe make them for back window and side ones for our car. He talked about two different styles and they would ship!

I think they'd be OK...theyre different and have a retro look that seems to sell alot of cars today....challenger, camero etc.
Besides, nobody else has them and they would give the xf a bigger dose of what kinda car is that?!

Putting all snides aside, I recall that these things really reduced interior heat a lot (early Boss 302 Mustang, looked pretty good on that car. Oh, by-the-by, aren't bell bottoms are making a come back also.
I know it's an old thread, but I saw a "new" Camaro today that had Louvers in the rear window.
I guess somebody in the "Bow Tie" Brigade came up with a $1000 to have one made.
