Default Crossfire Special Edition

Curous if anyone on the list has a Crossfire Special Edition. I know the car was offered in 2008; not sure if it was offered in 2007 model year. These came only in Blaze Red, had unique full face aluminum wheels, available with 5-spd AutoStick, satin door handles and bright pedals. Sort of a spruced up Standard Crossfire but not a Limited version.

I think our member "theoneandonly" has one of these Crossfires
I met him at a recent Chicagoland meet.

The red one on the front end of the row........

I believe there's a guy from Houston has one also, he showed up to a CTC GTG one weekend last summer.

Can't really see it, but it's there !

Stogey,

I'm pretty sure that is Miles from Houston. I am pretty sure he doesn't have a SpEd crossfire. He just put some Mandrus Milleniums shoes on his gal. Which look amazing btw.

There's nothing really "special" about them.. IMO...

As far as I knew.. I thought they were only available in a manual speed transmission!?!?

They're glorified base roadsters.

This is probably the most accurate post in this thread.

There are a LOT of them on Autotrader right now. I think they gave them out to Chysler execs quite a bit and they are drifting on to the lots now.

The 2008 Crossfire brochure I just got off eBay states that the Special Edition was available with the AutoStick 5-spd, which took them somewhere between the base model & Limited version. Car also came with satin door handles which normally were reserved for Limited models.

IMHO - The wheels are really good looking.

I agree. They are a version of the SRT-6 wheels but have the interior wells painted grey. Slightly better looking than the SRT-6 wheels, IMHO.

Erzer has one. and knows of two more here in the St louis area.
SRT wheels, the only base roadster ever made. No heated seats, no fog lights. Black surround, black inserts, black cloth seats. Only came in Inferno Red. Actually rather pretty. The only "spruce up" was the wheels.

I think only in 07 maybe 08s were available. I imagine Karmahn had a bunch of SRT wheels left over when the AMG version the SRT, was cancelled. sales were slow so the made an entry !?! level roadster to use up parts.

Manual tranny,,,,,no. They are special in that they are different, but I believe all of them are the same.

What is interesting is that dealers will hawk them as special and often ask premium prices for them! See it all the time on Ebay and Craigs list.

Per magneticred: Love my 2006 Blaze Red SE Crossfire.
So we know that the SE version was available in 2006, too.

I started another thread under Roadster (https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...ad.php?t=32438) since that was the only SE model sold. Folks are starting to respond that have one.

Later,

Stogey's right: that's me on the far right and the car on the left. A group from Houston drove up earlier that day but my wife had some work to finish up that morning. We hauled *** all morning to catch up and missed most of the nice drive in the morning. The afternoon was nice with the gang and we spent the night in Fredericksburg drinking beer. We drove the Willow City Loop out to Enchanted Rock Sunday morning and headed back to Houston.

My car is a 2006, build date 11/05. Six speed manual, cloth seats, no fogs. The window sticker lists a Customer Preferred Package for $310 and the Blaze Red Paint as optional at $150. The upgrades were the SRT style wheels, painted dark grey in the spokes, and the silver door handles.
