So long for now
Picked up my replacement for the crossfire, a 2007 Bmw Z4 coupe 3.0si. Car is beautiful and a worthy replacement for the crossfire. For anyone contemplating making the move, it is in my view a good move, worth the money.
Thanks to all on this site, great community with many great members. Indeed members helped me with doing a free carproof report on the car I eventually bought.
Cheers

Now that's a car that could probably ease the "withdrawl pains" of giving up a Crossfire. Enjoy your new Bimmer.

I've driven one and loved it. Love the Z4 M-Coupe even more. Good luck and at least it has a German Drivetrain too!

Could have bought two SRT6s for the price of that! Well, it's a cool car if you must have the BMW badge bragging rights. Just kidding. At least you know what to expect when an SRT6 shows up in your rear view mirror!

Thanks to all for the good wishes and congratulations.
For those interested here's my comparison of the Z4 to the xfire (for what its worth)
Curb appeal: z4 seems to garner a little more attention, its probably slightly more rare than the crossfire
interior: crossfire is roomier and I actually prefer it overall
ride: crossfire wins hands down, z4 has run flats and it can be punishing
acceleration: crossfire engine is torquier (I had a limited), z4 pulls better at higher revs, z4 is definitely faster, but doesn't feel much faster around town
engine: the inline six is a gem, z4 has the edge here
exhaust note: I really liked the note of the crossfire, distinctive, but the Z4's note is just slightly more intoxicating
handling: the z4 feels more responsive and tighter, higher limits
shift action: z4 has better feel
solidity: pretty even here, both feel granite like
overall I prefer the Z4, but dollar for dollar the crossfire is an awesome car, which is why I traded in the 350Z for it.
cheers
