Trying to find High Octane Petro
I'm having trouble finding fuel around my town any higher than 91 for my 04 XF. So here's my questions; Am I hurting the engine any and how long can I use the 91 octane w/ out doing damage? Or is it just a ~better performance issue~only
? Thanks for any feedback.
P.S. What is suppose to go in there 92 or 93? Have'nt drove it for so long in the winter months.

You are perfectly fine with 91... when they say you need premium it is 91 octane that is required...
93 octane is what is available in most states...i think california is only 91
and i guess arkansas is too..

Thanks for the reply. I moved from Arkansas to Missouri during the winter. And the higher (93) was easy to find and available in Ark. That is why the 91 did'nt seem normal. Thanks again.
There are plenty of states that do not have more than 91 octane. Come to any state with elevation (above 4000') and you will be lucky to find higher than 91 (regular gas is only 85 in Colorado). I had absolutely no issues running 91. I even put in 92 & 93 on the way out to the Dragon and I really cannot say I noticed any improvement.
couple things check out amaco/bp they have higher ocatane fuel in my town in missouri.
also you can add an octane booster to your tank or in my opinion throw some seafoam in there.
