It's a step forward for Hyundai, but I think it's a step backwards from the XF.

I'd pay more $ to get the 370Z, but I'm glad that Eric Stoddard got a chance to do another car.

My opinions:
The sagging rear window looks out of place, the butt is too high, and the front doesn't look very good.

Get rid of the sagging rear window, make the hood line parallel to the rear line, lower the butt, give the front some dimension and square edges.

You opened my eyes to the Genesis...nice looking when modded up. When I think about swaying from the 6 I just take a step back and look, or let my girl drive away and look at it in motion. No way I am leaving my 6......not yet!

It cracks me up when people say "it is a hyundai" lol.

Most people are not aware that mercedes commissioned hyundai to design and build engines for them.

Also, the motor that is in the evo is the same motor that is in the turbo genesis.

also, hyundai has quality to rival the best out there. better than domestic cars and as good as honda, toyota, lexus, mercedes etc.

Nice choice, good looking car with a lot of nice features. I was very interested in it, but from what I've read, the performance is not what you would expect from an advertised 306 HP. Motor Trend recently said they like the revised Mustang more due to it's better performance and upgraded interior for 2010.

For me to bite it needs another 40 HP and should do 0-60 in 5.0 flat.

You certainly are entitled to your opinion, as there clearly people who think the crossfire is ugly. But having actually driven the Z4 coupe, it's definitely a notch or two above the crossfire in terms of performance and feel. If it wasn't for the fact that the used Z4 coupes near me were 6k more than my crossfire cost, new, I'd probably own one. The point remains though, both the Z4 and crossfire are pretty rare vehicles. The genesis coupe by comparison is far more mass market--both good and bad IMO.

I think the only reason I like that the crossfire is really a mercedes is because it isn't a chrysler. I would have been much less likely to have purchased the crossfire if it was a typical chrysler product. But as far as mercedes is concerned, I don't find myself overly interested in most of their products. I think the G-wagon is about the only product that mercedes sells that I really like. Too bad they are soooooo expensive, even used!

I like the Genesis Coupe. The design is a little "busy" IMO, but the overall appearance is sleek and appealing. (It ain't no Crossfire, though). Love the cockpit. I'm sure it's fun to drive. Hyundais have come light-years since their inauspicious beginnings in America (those early cars really sucked). They're real cars now. Go for it and have fun!

It is a very interesting car. I love how the lines on the sides roll right into the rear... but the front end. Looking at it from dead center... it looks just like a tiburon nose. I dont know if i could run with that design. The interior looks great, i just wonder how plastic it feels. It will be interesting what design changes they might make in future models. Anybody else notice how the fuel door looks like it could have come right from our xfires (that is if our fuel doors were on the drivers side)

I will agree that the Z4 is a great looking car, and that it is much more expensive (and holds value better) than an XF, but that is about where the agreement ends. These cars have been a thorn in BMWs side since 2003 and have never sold the way the Z3 did, and you can pick one up quite inexpensively for what they sticker for (I almost bought a 2005 3.0i when I got the XF).

As far as performance, any NA XF will smoke a 2.5i and it would be a great race between a 3.0 and an XF, but with less weight and more torque, I think I would take a 3.0 all day. The Z4 is a nice car, but I will keep my cheap old chrysler

In regards to the Genesis - looks like a decent car. I have enjoyed looking at a few of the latest style Tiburons, and think Hyundai is on the right path.

He is referring to the Z4 Coupe - not the roadster, and also M Coupe. They are completely different animals than the typical Z3 and Z4 you see on the road every day. You may be referring to the same thing, I'm not sure...but just wanted to make sure you guys were on the same page.

There are three XF's in my neighborhood. I've seen a TOTAL of two Z3/Z4 Coupes in the whole city, and neither was an M Coupe. The Roadsters are a dime a dozen, but the Coupes are very rare. I will agree that their unique look rivals the XF, both the Z3 Coupe and the Z4 Coupe. If I could have afforded a Z4 M Coupe, I would've had that before my SRT-6, no doubt. With that said, there is not a better buy in the market than the SRT these days.

And? The crossfire has been a bigger thorn in the side of Chrysler. There are still quite a few 2008 crossfires on the lots from what I am lead to believe from reading this forum. Pricey 2 seat cars and controversial styling does not equal sales success, as evidenced by both the Z4 and crossfire sales numbers. And by gosh, the new Z4 looks absolutely hideous in comparison, if anyone has seen one yet. I always liked the looks of the Z4, but the new one just look like some awkward version of the old car---like what would happen if I tried to draw the old Z4.

Most cars will smoke a BMW with the 184hp I6! I can't believe BMW actually sold a 525 in the current body style. I drove one of those as well and it was a total slug. It's my understanding the at all the coupes had the ~260hp I6, which of course, is going to decimate the regular crossfire. When it comes to purchase price, the crossfire decimates the Z4 coupe. And i like the larger feeling interior and more traditional dash layout in the crossfire. The Z4 coupe goes like crazy comparatively speaking, but it feels so cramped next to the the XF. I think I recall reading in C&D (or MT) that the Z4 coupe was pulling quarter mile times in the high 13's! That's not to shabby!

Exact opposite around these parts, there are more Z-4's which I think are ugly and Z-3's which I do like but nowhere near as much as the Crossfire. This is kind of a silly argument, kinda like me arguing with you if you like your steak welldone........to each his own. Some of the Genesis coupes in photoman's pics look pretty nice. Hyundai has come a long way with this car but I don't care for the wheels, the front end, I could go on. If you like the car by all means buy one. If you like the Z4 buy one. To me the Genesis coupe doesn't have quite the class or design style that the Crossfire has. Would I trade my Crossfire for one? Absolutely not. What would I trade my Crossfire for? A nice 32 Ford roadster hot rod, A Cobra (hey I have real expensive tastes). That's about it right now which surprises even me. Usually by now (4 years in the same car) I'm looking at "what is next". In the real world that hasn't even crossed my mind yet. Like I said I went and actually looked at the Genesis coupe and it did not hit me the way the Crossfire did.

Euro - we had a 5 series too and it couldn't get out of its own way, our Mercedes C240 would blow it away. I will give a thumbs up to the BMW 2 door 3 series coupe, think its a 330ix? There's one in our parking lot at work and it is a beautiful car but its also in excess of 40K. There are also a ton of them in these parts. Crossfires, I might see 1 a week.

patpur,

For what it's worth - I would've never traded my crossfire (base or SRT) for a Genesis either.

But, a Z3 or Z4 M Coupe? I would've considered it.

Wow, Usually i'd say "waht the hell are you posting all these pics here for.."

But this car... thanks for all the pictures, extremely beautiful and just brilliant.. you can see the traces of a crossfire in it, as well. I'm jealous.
