No. Vauxhall is our equivalent brand to Opel and they don't sell it. It's probably down to the cost of Right Hand Drive conversion... the usual culprit for us not getting as much choice as the rest of Europe!

i actually think it was a good option to put it in here...

if you put it in the SRT section you have a lot of biased opinions on the cars...

if you put it here most people in this section want to upgrade to an SRT at some point and so have a less biased (but still biased) opinion and could therefore provide maybe a little better insight into the decision making process for the who debate of SRT6 v Redline v GXP...

IMO.

FAIR ENOUGH, but....

Why, when comparing the XF roadster to 2 other ROADSTERS would you not put it in a section with ROADSTERS uuuhhh like maybe the roadster section?? There are so many differences between a coupe and roadster XF that I do not believe anyone will get a great comparo, just my opinion, and I am sortof an a$$ LOL

This thread could have been started in:

SRT-6
Roadster
Coupe and
Other cars.

Ok-I'm confused!

And I've been giving lessons in being an *** longer than you've been one!

Sort of a Master's Degree!

Max, first you suggest an S2000, now this??? You could write a book on being an a$$ but my point is still 100% valid :-) You compare 3 roadsters in the roadster section. There was no mention of a coupe anywhere I read.

No disrespect intended, just making a legitimate point. I will shut up now.

Hey! Blame Cruzmisl-not me!

It was just an observation.

A-H!! I'll get to you later... I'm headin' home!

And so far as my suggestion goes-I'd drive an S2K long before either GM gocarts. It's a damned fine vehicle.

I have never driven one of Pontiac/Saturn cars and absolutely loved my SRT. The AMG motor was amazing. Any ideas as to the pros and cons of each? Surely opinions will be biased but I'd like to hear them.

Thanks,
Joe

you have to remember 4 things....

the Solstice and sky are not as rare and will never be nearly as rare.

those two are ugly compared to the crossfire

My brother has a Sky redline.... my caliber srt-4 is faster.

in five years, you could get 15 grand for your srt-6, the other two will barely fetch 12

well, my neighbors, one has a customized soltice, doesn't look like a soltice anymore, more like a modern austin healey, the other has a sky...they love their cars, and really don't care for mine...funny thing about it, is, I have never driven mine hard around them, always the nice guy....yes John, I said nice guy...until they pushed each other one day, while coming home from a car show we all went to...well, I counldn't stay nice forever, they were prolly around 90-100 on a nice lonely four lane interstate, as I cruised by at 140, top down of course....it was beautiful....they have never called me to go with them since....go figure...

I too looked at the saturn and pontiac before my crossfire but I ended up with a base model crossfire coupe because the price was right and I was able to extend the factory warranty to 96,000 miles.

My opinion of the sky turbo was that it was a fun car decent looks but crummy interior (even compared to my base coupe). If I had to do it over again I would probobly by the saturn over a base coupe but definately not over an srt. My only reasoning is that I enjoy modding cars and chrysler's warranty is too strict.
With the soltice and sky you can spend a mere $650.00 and bump your torque up to 340ft lbs and retain your factory warranty , not to mention the ecotec motor is extremely easy to build while the crossfire's tuning is very complicated. Once you install the LNF upgrade the engine will automatically retune when other modifications are made....no need for a reflash .

WHY? If you really owned an SRT6 before why would you even ask. A supercharged engine modified by AMG. A first class sports car.Powerful, beautiful, safe and reliable. And your asking the opinions of CF owners in one of the best CF forums in the country. What do you want to here.
I drive a 268+HP modified Limited. I would take my Limited over those any day. Have driven both. They are what people refer to "as cute". They are also small.
Three years ago I sold my 12.4 sec 1/4 mile Miata. It had quite a lot of mods that were done by a company called Flying Miata, including their stage 3 turbo. This car was a monster in terms of raw power. But it was small in terms of size, even with the custom body components. It was beautiful to look at inside and out. My point..dangerous in todays traffic and crappy drivers.I could drive one of those underneath a Semi. I feel relatively safe in a Crossfire, much, much safer. The SRT6 is an exceptional solid, seat of your pants fast car and it's classy, not cute. Doesn't get much better then that.

Hard to believe that so many members of this Crossfire forum prefer the XF to the Saturn and Pontiac. Who'd a figured?

Drove the GXP yesterday and aside from both cars being front engined 2 seater roadsters they have nothing in common. NO power, SRT WAY faster. Clutch is difficult to modulate, rear suspension felt wallowy and the brakes had ZERO feel, like stepping on a brick. The steering had no feel and there is absolutely no storge space and much cheaper build quality.

I'm going to wait unitl after summer to buy my replacement roadster. Pay too much of a premium buying a convertible in April....

Thanks for all the comments except where this should have been posted
