Default VIN Sequence Designation

I was just curious why my 07 XFire Limited Coupe has an "L" in the 4th VIN position instead of an "A", which typically stood for: A = Restraint System Active Front And Side Air Bags.

I remember my insurance carrier questioning me about it when I said to add the XFire to my policy. According to their records, XFires always had an "A" in that 4th position. Anyone got any documentation on what the "L" stood for in 2007? Was the Restraint System different in 2007 compared to previous years?
