I have a 2005 alabaster coupe bought new in may of 2006. after 30,000 miles i needed to replace my continental tires. i replaced them with toyo prevos. the rear tires are bald after 1800 miles??????Any body hear of anything like that before? I do not Hot dog my car. The dealer has called toyo and they are only offering 50% off new ones,which i dont what anyway. Must be A bad batch of tires that were made way to soft. The front ones are perfect

 

Where are they bald? They could have been underinflated, overinflated, your alignment could be off.. could be a bad batch of tires like you said.

 

And I thought my Michelins wore bad. I replaced the rears at 10,000 miles. They probably still had a few thousand left but I wasn't comfortable with the tread that was on them. So now I have a "spare" for the rear and two for the front. I don't hot rod the car either. What I do think is the dealer that had the car for the first couple hundred miles did take it out and drive it pretty hard. When I got it it had 300 miles on it. Replaced them with the same tire which I got at half price. If they last me another 3-4 years I'll be ok with that. The Toyo's must have had something wrong with them, the ones I've had on my cars have been good tires and lasted well into the 20k mile range.

Toyo tires have a problem with your tires. The fronts look great? Then its their problem and they should replace them. 1800 miles is NOTHING, get them to fess up to their problem. Stand up, be heard, and don't back down.
