Default Crossfire Questions

I have been reading about the xfire for some time now and I have a few questions that I would like to ask some of the people who own this car. First of all are the headlights HID or halogen, what is located under the rectangular cover just to the right of the handbrake, and od any of you here lease the car. Thanks, none of the dealers in my area have them in stock.

The headlights are halogen. I think there's been some talk in these forums about the possibility of HID replacement units, but I haven't been paying attention since I personally hate being on the receiving end of HID lights at night and don't feel any real need to do that to anyone else.

The rectangular cover to the right of the hand brake is the cup holder. Press on it, and it flips up. Note that this is the one and only cup holder in the car. Having only one cup holder is right up there with not being able to see the radio display during the day at the top the (very) short list of things that annoy me about the Crossfire.

As for leasing, that's really just a personal financial decision. I don't think there's anything about the Crossfire that makes it any different from any other car in terms of whether to lease or buy.

Cheers,

Greg

Default LCD left of the clock

The LCD left of the clock displays what gear that you are in. If you use the manual/automatic to manually shift through the gears it will show the following:
P - Park
1 - first gear
2 - 2nd
3 - 3rd
4 - 4th
D- Automatic reingaged

5th is an overdrive gear and is geared too low for significant acceleration.

Gear 5 is D.

So it is 1,2,3,4,D (5).

When left is D position, you can also "encourage" the transmission to shift up by tapping right, kind of like in some video games where even in auto mode you can still kinda shift. Not documented but works for me.

There is also the automatic downshift and you can use that by tapping and holding the stick left on deceleration, the tranny will shift to the most optimum gear for take-off once you hit the accelerator again, excellent for those corners.
