Default Trunk Question

I recently purchased my white Crossfire and then discovered this great forum It has quickly proved to be a :?: very informative resource concerning this new model.

I have a question that the other owners should be able to anser:
When you lift up the mat is the trunk area, the tire repair equipment is located on the left in recessed compartments. On the right side there is another recssed area, that in my vehicle has nothing in it. Is that correct or is "something" missing?

I discovered that the special tool that is supposed to be in the glove compartment, that allows access to the front tow hook was missing. My dealer is ordering me a new one.
Just wondering if anything else might be missing.

I have the same question. Could this space be used for an 5-6 disc cd changer - or XM unit?
I bought a black 6 speed - six weeks ago. The car is awesome.

While driving in some countries in europe you must carry safety equipment ,safety triangle, fire extinguisher ect..
Maybe they left a space for these items if not already included.

I was told that the extra space in the trunk was for a CD changer. Don't know if there is another "design use" for the area. My dealer was not real familiar with the car when we got it on July 4th.

My radio shop buried the XM main brain under all of the trunk stuff>>>I cant even see it..they took it all apart secured it and put it back together...leaving the spaces on the right as is..

Macjake is probably right, the hole on the right side is probably for a first-aid and breakdown kit which most cars in Europe will come with standard.

It is consistent with practically all European cars I've seen.

VW's have a similar compartment in their trunks with is labeled with a green cross but is empty.
