Got Dupli-Color wheel paint. I bought 2 cans of graphite, 1 can of clear, 1 can of red caliper paint... and 4 sheets of 400 grit sand paper.
(Sorry for the pic quality... I have to go to work right now and only had time to take pics with my iPhone. They really don't do the wheels much justice -- they look much better in person)
About 3 hours later:

The owner before me got some pretty nice curb rash on all the wheels, but between the light sanding and the paint being somewhat textured and thick -- it covered quite a bit of imperfections.
Now I'd like to add some of Andrew's logos for the center caps, and give it a small drop.

And as stated above, the wheels were in quite poor shape and this covered the gashes and scratches quite nicely.
The far away pics that I posted look like crap.. but the close-up one shows how nice and even the coating actually is.

Yeah, I see what you're saying. When I wash it this week, I'll post up some decent quality pics. Like I say, it does look nicer in person. The graphite paint has a shiny metal flake appearance... and they're quite glossy. I'm satisfied with the outcome. Especially since it hardly costed anything at all.
I wanted a new look, but can't really afford new rims right now. So hopefully this will hold me over for a few months.

I would have been more concerned about touching up/painting the bottom rocker panel.
Yo did a lot of work and it really doesn't do much visually for your car.
Although you did a pretty good job on the wheels, I have to agree with others in that it does look like brake dust.

really though..if you like it and put all that work into it then who gives a s**t what I think or others. Gotta do things that make you happy.
If you prepped/sanded it well you should be alright in terms of paint flaking off. I have used the same paint on a BMW M3 wheel with great results, although I did apply clear over the silver. Enjoy your ride.
