I certainly hope that this issue will be resolved before too long.

That this is still necessary implies the parts situation is not good.

Guys, it's important that this type of discussion becomes visible to Chrysler. You have to go to facebook and raise your questions and concerns.

CICCI is doing all we can to raise the issue with them, but the more noise we make, the better they will hear us.

Are there new cowlings to be had? If Karmann is no longer operating, is there really any hope of getting new parts at all? Heck, we can't even get an update for the nav CDs...

Is there a way to add my $0.02 to the Facebook page without creating a Facebook account?

Not that I'm aware of. You can also do it from Twitter.

I joined the Chrysler Customer Advisory Board. So far, the discussions appear to be content-free. I suggested that they start a thread on Crossfire parts. We'll see what happens.

If used parts are OK, try eBay. I've been finding some there -- ask sellers of any body parts if they have what you are looking for. Just scored a shifter surround!

Well, lets hope they listen...they are losing good Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge customers if they don't. I don't think I have ever been without a jeep around since I was 18...but, I am turning mine in when July rolls around. I don't plan on buying anymore cars for awhile, but if I do....I doubt it will be a CJD product if they keep this up.

I would by no means consider myself litigous. I'd rather just avoid the hassles of such things. However, I think the longer chrysler takes to remedy the situation with the crossfire the more logical (to me) a class action lawsuit becomes. Legally, chrsyler needs to carry parts for these cars for 10 years. There has to be a logical limit where an indefinite back order become plain simple negligence. People damage cars and the inability to get the proper parts in a reasonable time should be implied in the warranty of the car. Now with VW bringing Karmann back to life, new parts for all Karmann cars should continue to be produced. I wonder if body parts for cars like the CLK (IIRC, at least the convertible is produced in this factory) are hard to get as well.

This whole mess makes me quite angry.

I don't usually post but is anyone else thinking of selling their car because of this parts problem. I absolutely love my white roadster but I need it to get to work. The fun cars have had problems-I owned the Fiero GT and almost bought the Pontiac Solstice. The Crossfire is built so much better than those that I thought I had finally made a great decision.
Thanks for listening to me wine.

The good news is that mechanical parts shouldn't be hard to get. Body and trim pieces are the issue at hand. I hope it doesn't get to the point where every owner needs a parts car or two as a source of all non-mechanical/electrical items!

Tried creating an account. Got as far as the point where they send the activation email, then it won't stop giving me some damn system error.

I hate Chrysler more and more everyday. Mercedes and Karmann did a fine job with the mechanical aspects of the XF, Chrysler just ordered it and put in some cheap trim and interior.

I thought Karmann used to assemble the Sebring convertible, too.
