Alright, they still have the parts and I'll be picking them up when I'm off of work (still have about 2 hours for that). They also have the pressure plate off, so I'll be able to pick that up, too.

Alright everyone who is paying attention to this thread - Finally got the three pieces for the clutch that DarkHelmetRT requested, and they are enroute as I type. He should be getting them by around the end of the week, and it'll be his ballgame from there. Just thought I'd post an update for people!

Very interested. Also quickly approaching 70,000 miles and would love a 'sport' clutch. I have been babying the clutch as much as possible knowing the cost of replacement is exorbitant. I voted for the $550 option but I would certainly pay more if it was less than OEM.

how long do you think it will take to design one of these and put it into production?

We're waiting on DarkHelmetRT (whom I haven't heard from in a few days). My clutch parts are on the way up there right now, and should be getting up there by the end of the week. Once he has them, I have no idea how long it'll take.. <shrugs> Hopefully sooner, rather than later, though! I've been without my XFire for a month as of today..

Did you attempt to alter the clutch delay valve in the new install??? Also, what was the price tag on that? Thanks.

The parts are at the R&D dept. now we wait till they get back to me. based on the weight of the stock unit's dual mass setup (god I hate dual mass) I think it's quite possible that we may come up with a sprung disc/ solid flywheel combo that could weigh 20lb less as well as an upgrade for the stock flywheel.

as soon as I know something I will post it.

BTW. in all my years in the performance business I've never seen a clutch this destroyed.

Waiting is always the worst. Especially considering the time I've been without my baby. Ah well, it'll be worth it. Not just for me, for everyone who is looking for a better clutch for our cars. Someone had to do it, and since my clutch went out anywho, figured why not?

Hey Andy was that your car I saw behind DD?
Took my coupe in to have the heated seat fixed and saw a XF. Guessing it's yours.
Still need to get together sometime about the STL trip.

Yup, that was her. Just waiting on the new clutch, whenever that'll get done. Hopefully sooner, rather than later! And when would you like to get together about the trip? I'm free any night other than Wednesdays and Thursdays, just let me know.

talked to the R&D guys last night. They are working twords a stock like replacment capable of 350hp and a high end 450hp option that would replace the flywheel with a solid mass flywheel and be alot lighter.

will keep you posted.

Sweet! Any ideas on a possible ETA? Totally itching to not only:

A) Test out the new clutch and make sure it works; and

B) Get my car back!

Most definitely,
it would need to be an unsprung, puck type though..

and if you have a price point like spec, nothing will happen... 1200 for a single plate is absolute murder
