Alright everyone who is paying attention to this thread - Finally got the three pieces for the clutch that DarkHelmetRT requested, and they are enroute as I type. He should be getting them by around the end of the week, and it'll be his ballgame from there. Just thought I'd post an update for people!
Re: Who is really interested in a performance clutch?
Very interested. Also quickly approaching 70,000 miles and would love a 'sport' clutch. I have been babying the clutch as much as possible knowing the cost of replacement is exorbitant. I voted for the $550 option but I would certainly pay more if it was less than OEM.
Re: Who is really interested in a performance clutch?
We're waiting on DarkHelmetRT (whom I haven't heard from in a few days). My clutch parts are on the way up there right now, and should be getting up there by the end of the week. Once he has them, I have no idea how long it'll take.. <shrugs> Hopefully sooner, rather than later, though! I've been without my XFire for a month as of today..

Re: Who is really interested in a performance clutch?
The parts are at the R&D dept. now we wait till they get back to me. based on the weight of the stock unit's dual mass setup (god I hate dual mass) I think it's quite possible that we may come up with a sprung disc/ solid flywheel combo that could weigh 20lb less as well as an upgrade for the stock flywheel.
as soon as I know something I will post it.
BTW. in all my years in the performance business I've never seen a clutch this destroyed.

Re: Who is really interested in a performance clutch?
Waiting is always the worst. Especially considering the time I've been without my baby. Ah well, it'll be worth it. Not just for me, for everyone who is looking for a better clutch for our cars. Someone had to do it, and since my clutch went out anywho, figured why not?

Yup, that was her. Just waiting on the new clutch, whenever that'll get done. Hopefully sooner, rather than later! And when would you like to get together about the trip? I'm free any night other than Wednesdays and Thursdays, just let me know.

A) Test out the new clutch and make sure it works; and
B) Get my car back!
