was a toss up, 350z vs crossfire
I've always loved the shape of the 350z and thought I would buy one until I saw the Crossfire. I love the shape of the Crossfire and am pleased by the high marks for reliability. I was flabbergasted when I viewed several 350z forums and read a laundry list of mechanical failings of the 350z.....transmission and engines failing being the biggest problems....any thoughts on the matter?
Re: was a toss up, 350z vs crossfire
Same here. For me I was looking at cars like the 350z, RX8, and Z4. When I found my car on a lot, and did a little research, I too was amazed at how reliable the car is said to be. They're all very nice cars, but this one just happened to fall into my lap.

Yeah, I too looked at 350 Z before settling on my Crossfire. It is a nice car, but Nissan in general does not have great reliability ratings. They have gone down quite a bit as of late and from what I remeber (if I'm correct) the Titan pickup is terrible. Reliability aside, something about the Z roadster looks totally off and ungainly. The top boot and trunk area is so long it looks almost as if the car should have a rumble seat.

I agree with the reliability ratings not being stellar for Nissan..however, I have a 2005 Titan pickup and aside from a brake issue that Nissan fixed, it has been a great truck. I think I dodged the bullet with rear end problems. I digress...I was so impressed with my truck I gave the 350z another look but the awful reliability issues steered me away.

I must admit, the 370Z does look nice though.

I did stop and look at the new Nismo at our local dealer...couldn't get the salesman to go play though....if the owner had been there, I would have shamed him into it... I used to buy cars from his Dad...but he wasn't....its looks like it could run, but I have my doubts...

There is nothing wrong with a ricer (can also be a derogatory comment) because I am a fan of all cars. Italian, German, Korean and Japanese. Hey I migh even try that little indian ride that they just came out with.
THe xfire is a great car. I like mine and it is a great deal for the money.
Try one you will like it!
Re: was a toss up, 350z vs crossfire
I looked at a 350 but liked the 370 better. Both are faster than the XF (unless its the SRT6 of course) but also they both cost more.
If the 370 were cheaper I probably would have gone that route but I also probably would have regretted it. My XF is perfect. Only other choice was the new Z4 but that thing has 2 superchargers and only 300hp? Whats the life span on a supercharger in a German car? 3 - 5 years and about 6,500 USD to replace. So best case scenario your lease runs out before the car burns out.
I'm glad I just paid cash for the XF instead.

It looks like they used botox on that front grill;
I've got to agree with the car mag that said it looks like the "Joker grin".
