Let's see Ashley has been driving an SRT6 since she was 16 1/2. Since having the SRT no accidents or speeding tickets. No comment prior.
Has gone to drag strips and raced maybe 25 times and autocross twice at Homestead raceway with instructors for driving experience and training. Drives relatively conservatively except when following me....me bad example,,,, drive too fast....
Guess I'm mentally challenged also.

One of the things I've always wanted to do is to beat somebody in a street race. Well on my way to my friends on the HW is a Trans Am riding next to me. He rev's up and it actually sounded pretty good, so I ignore it and keep driving. He still goes at it trying to get me to race him. I'm still getting use to the six speed and plus another ticket is not what I need.
So I just end up taking an exit and let him go on.. I know he'll probably be talking sh** thinking he can beat me, but I'm pretty sure I could take him.
Am I in the right or wrong?

4 points on the license and a recent accident...hmmm. Not to sound like a boring, responsible adult, but I think you did the right thing by ignoring the dude. Racing should be done on an empty road or a track. After all, it would be a shame to lose your license after buying such a spectacular car.
Don't street race! You are 17 and very naive. Take my advise.... you have a hot car, you should be picking HOT girls. Try being a lover not a racer.
This just happened last week in NY.

tha_dude34, good luck with your car. I think you'll realize just how lucky you are when you start paying for your own insurance (w/ 4 points on your license). Having to pay that much out of your own pocket wakes most people wake up and realize there's better times and better places to take risks.

I know it, it's ridiculous how much we (as in teenagers) have to pay. My 77 CJ was $150 per month, my SC Frontier was $250 per month (with no points or tickets), and the funny thing is with my Crossfire, it's $270 per month with three points. Go figure.
I take my car to the track 1 day a month just to let her rip! Not taking any chances on the street of the 1 little mistake that could ruin the rest of my life.....It's just so not worth it. I do like to get to the speed limit as fast as I can though!

Didn't Ashley indeed get into an accident, with the SRT-6 anyways? I thought I remember that whole thread about her coming on the forum and you as well, or was that with another car that wasn't the SRT-6?

We know people are going to street race, a lot of people do it (i've done it as well), and it happens a lot. But encouraging someone to do it over the internet especially at your ages 16/17 (I know i'm only 20 but i've had my car since I was 15, I know exactly what is going on here) is completely stupid.
