Default New Radio's On The Way!!!

I emailed chrysler's star hotline this morning. I asked if they had any new info on this radio TSB. They faxed me a return letter that stated the TSB is about a month away and the fix will be installing a NEW RADIO!!! They gave me the new radio part # but said to wait till the TSB comes out before ordering. So I hope this makes owners happy and you can look forward to a new radio for XMAS.

That's great news. Just took our car to the dealer today to reset our TPM light and made sure they put our inability to see the radio display on the work order so it would be noted. Keep up the good work! Happy Holidays

Default Good News

I guess they finally decided that an invisible display, really cound not be a design feature.

Thanks for your efforts.

Great news. Thanks for the update, crossfiretech. It is very helpful that we have someone on the inside.

I guess all the complaing finally resulted in a replacement. Nice to see the "system" working.

crossfiretech - THAT's GREAT NEWS! Thanks for keeping all of us up to date. DCX came through (once the TSB comes out) I'm VERY impressed. Needless to say, it's great that all of us 'bitched' to DCX, and they listened--kudos.

Let us know asap, and if you get any other info (pics, part #) before the TSB, please post.

Good News, Last week I took my car in for service and stated my radio was not receiving AM radio stations.
The dedicated Crossfire mechanic agreed and ordered a new replacement radio.
I did not mention the poor LED display.

Today I went back to the dealer to have the new radio installed and guess what, it had the new display. It's neat, matches the instrument panel display. All new replacement radios will have the new display, go for it.

I'm glad for all of you, but whould it not be greath to have the original (I know bad radio). Just for the originality? Like some other bad manufactered things (fe stamps) if it is older it whould be an original collectors item!

If you can keep the original one, but my gues is that Chrysler wants it back. And who says no! I keep the bad original radio...

Any cool new stuff on the new radio, or is it just a redesigned UI?

Specifically, I am looking for an Aux Input. I know the original supossedly does not have one. But, I read something interesting in the Manual, today (Page 108) "If a telephone with hands-free operation is installed, the call may be routed through the speaker system."

It goes on to describe how to set the stereo to auto-mute, but not how / where the hands free is plugged into the stereo. (Wanting to plug my portable DVD player through the speakers, but don't want to buy a whole new in-console car-DVD player, for the six times a year I'd want it, when I already have a hand held I can just set on the dash). Any ideas / info?

Anyway, the display doesn't matter to me. I'd rather keep the  "Limited Edition" original if the display is all that is changed.

If there is a telephone input is most likely to be a small jack (smaler then 1.5) and a wire to switch the radio/cd to telephone. Also this will be mono not stereo.

I also use this input for dvd, on a Pioneer that is! And the result is not bad.

If you want to be sure, remove the radio and look

quote/It goes on to describe how to set the stereo to auto-mute, but not how/quote >> the phone does this or a button which gives a - negative signal (mass).

Still waiting on a red one...

IS THIS NEW RADIO TO REPLACE THE INFINITY THAT COMES WITH THE CAR? IN DAYLIGHT HOURS I CAN'T SEE A THING ON THE LED AND THE CONTROL PANEL ADJUSTMENT DOES NOTHING. THE SOUND IS GREAT BUT, I DON'T HAVE A CLUE WHERE I AM IN THE SYSTEM.
THANKS FOR ANY RESPONSE.

Default Ghost passenger!

Well, I'm driving down the road. Listening to a good song on the radio. Out of nowhere the station changes! The display still says I'm on the channel I was listening to, however I know its not. I push the button to go back. Nothing, I push another selection. It changes. I push back to the song I originally wanted to listen to. Ok it works again. 5 seconds later, switches to another station.

This is getting quite annoying. I'm going to take it into the dealer to have it swapped out for one of those fancy new radios. Maybe the new one will exclude the ghost passenger option. :?
