Well, I'd go with the official dates from Chrysler.

i.e. convertible out in 04 (probably badged as an 05)

I taded in my 2000 Mustang GT ( 260 hp ) for this car. I never was able
to use all the horse power the stang had. The Crossfire gets up and goes
just fine for me. More horse power sounds cool....if you can find a place to use it.......without getting a ticket. What the Crossfire laks in HP it more than makes up for in handeling.

You can be assured as well that the SRT will only come in automatic just like the AMG version of mercedes cars. So if you are looking for a 6 speed SRT I do not think such an animal will exist. Mercedes is donating the engine-transmission combination from the SLK32. Not saying that this is a bad thing just if you are looking for the manual gearbox, my opinion is that it will not exist on the supercharged car. I also agree that for an every day car 215hp is plenty. I also own a 2002 Mustang GT converitlbe with 260 HP. I noticed that the engine on the crossfire gets to redline quicker. I am not sure if this is a function of the gearing in the trans and the rear end or if there is just less rotational mass in the drivetrain to get moving. I think the Crossfire engine is tuned much nicer than the Mustangs. Although the mustang with the top down running through the gears sounds great. Just my opinion.

I say we just burn them and take the insurance money and wait a couple of years and see what DCM does and then all the bugs will be workrd out and maybe they will have a car that everyone will like.NOT With this being the first year for the car I'll bet it will have some collectable value later on but that convertible does sood like a furture car for me

I'm not burning mine!!! I Love all 215 hp!!! And I'm sure there will be reasonable after market tuning gadgets (chips and eprom programmers) in the, not too distant future, to help squeeze a couple more horses out of it.

I was kidding about burning it, I love this car, someone just made a good point were are you going to use 330hp car. This car is too fast for me know,we all can say that we had the first Xfire that theirs were protyped from DCM is not perfect they are out to make money just like all the other car companys.Being the first year and low productions numbers this car to me is a classic already BUT that rag top sure sounds nice
