Default Rear Side Marker

Auto X said there is a thread about installing clear rear side markers, with a little mod envolved. I have looked through the threads but wasn't able to find it. Does anyone know where it is located?
Thanks in advance!!

I obtained 2 sets at different times. Obviously 1 for the front and one for the rear. After some comparisons, the two sets, with the same OEM numbers on them, vary in size, just slightly. One set will fit perfect in the rear opening without any mod expect what is shown below. However the other set needed some slight filing to fit the hole properly WITHOUT any damage to your car.

Test fit your markers after making the modifications below. Right front will go to the left rear etc... If your marker won't fit without forcing, you may need to file opposite or lower corners (its been too long to remember which) of the base down just slightly on the base edge. I didn't file any of the clear lens, only the base. It won't take much.

Next if you want to continue to use regular light bulbs, Autozone carries a 168 red bulb. The 194 in red burns too bright and looks too pink when compared to the tail lights. The best match to the taillight color is 194 red LEDs. But then you have issues with the dash light telling you a bulb is out. Yes there is a fix for that as well, but I stayed with the 168s.

Good Luck, James

PS - the modifications in the pic are not visible should you go back to your original red markers.
