Default First real race!

Ok yesterday my friend came to me with a Dodge Charger R/T and wants to race. I agreed though i didnt think i could win. We raced from about 20 to 120 and i was in front but it was pretty close. I just can't believe I was ahead at all!

The outcome of your race reminded me of a highway pull I had against a previous generation (06-09) Audi S4. These cars have a ~350hp V8 and the one in question had some exterior mods and an exhaust, so who knows what else was done. I realized that I would have a significant weight advantage and the quattro zaps quite a bit of power on it's own. However, 350+hp is still quite a bit more hp than my meager 215, so my only question was how quickly would the S4 actually pull on me.

Well, I was very suprised that I was more or less able to keep up with the car when I accelerated in 5th gear. I have to say I was surprised and I still think the guy wasn't completely in it. He eventually moved to a neighboring lane and gave me a thumbs up. If the guy really wasn't holding back, he should consider selling the car. I was partially considering an S4 prior to the Crossfire as I really like the sound of the Audi V8, but I'm partially happy I never gave them much of a look.

I've outrun Hemi Magnums, Chargers and a Ram RumbleBee at the drag strip in my PT Cruiser Turbo. My personal best in the PT is a 14.4 second pass, which should actually beat my Crossfire in a heads up race.

But...... I know from a 40mph roll the Crossfire feels a lot faster than my PT. A friend of mine has lightly modded PT that runs consistant 14.0 in the 1/4 so it's obviously quicker in that discipline than my Crossfire, but I had a feeling that from a roll I could still take him. Sure enough, we both did a road course day on the infield course at California Speedway and I followed him on our first lap. We came out of the final series of corners doing about 50mph and entered the front straight.

I passed him and then I walked away from him.

He was shocked.

I had a little mini cooper this morning beside me try and get me going......... I do have to admit that little thing took off pretty quick, but I would have smoked it. He was going through the gears pretty hard........I just sat back and enjoyed my lovely drive to work. Funny how the oddest of cars want to see what you got...........

ok ok ok!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i have a charger rt/rt and a na Crossfire and have race my better half alot, the crossfire dose jump out car and half but in a 1/4 mile the charger is going to win out , The Charger pull alot harder between 30 and 80 you might want to stay away from a rolling start , you want stop and go race red light to red light,
