Is this happening when you start the car? There is a big drain during start up which causes a voltage drop and seems to make funny things happen. You can put a voltage meter on the battery and check it while starting the car. Best to check first thing in the morning before you charge it up by driving it.

The original batteries were VARTA's and they have a date on them, some were replaced because the car sat too long after importation. Depending on use four years is good so a 2005 could at the end of its run. I replaced my one this year and it was dated September '03, so I figured it owed me nothing. All batteries have a date of manufacture and maybe a date that it was recharged on, get a new battery with no recharge date on it, maximum age 6 months. You buy everything else fresh, so why buy a year old battery?
See the following for battery information, there will be a test on its contents later.

No it happened about 2 days ago when i was driving back to school. It happened to me 8 times on the highway and 6 times off. I have about 50 minutes on the highway and about 25 off.

That's most likely a low tire pressure problem. Been there, done that...many times. Check your tire pressures.

I've never heard that one before. But anything beyond 4 years on a OEM battery, you're pressing your luck on borrowed time.
