Rented a Mustang
Took my vacation out west and ended up with a 2010 mustang for a rental.
Flew into Reno, picked up the car and drove to Lake Tahoe. From there I took Route 50 to San Francisco. If you have never made that drive, the first 50 miles out of Tahoe is some of the most beautiful country in the USA. Descend from 7,000 feet down to sea level on a two lane twisting road.
Stang not my XF, but I was impressed. Even though it was a V6 it had plenty of power and handled very well. Tight, no squeaks or rattles and the interior was nicely finished, even leather interior.
Also got 30 mpg for the 400 miles I drove.
It sure would have been nice to have had my XF for the trip, but I must admit the Stang wasn't bad.

I'm not shocked. Ford does seem to be making an honest, hard effort to improve the quality of the Mustang w/ each passing model year. The new 2010 model seems very nice, esp. the interior quality.
That's Blasphemy!!! haha kidding.
I bet the scenery was beautiful... at least it was in a decent car and not smartfortwo or 30 years old kia.

I was looking at the 2005 Mustangs when I walked next door to the Chrysler dealer. Fell in love with the Crossfire instead. I was not impressed with the 2005 Mustang interior and was blown away when I saw the Crossfire. They were not discounting the prices on the Mustangs at the time because they were new and hot.... so I figure why pay 25K for a Mustang when I can get a beautiful Crossfire for the same price. That was 4 years ago and I still don't regret my decision!
Not knocking the Mustangs! I love them. Just love the Crossfire better
I actually like the new model and would love to check them out!

It appears the rental car agencies are stocking up on 2010 Stangs. I got mine from Dollar.
Cheap way to check it out for a day.
There is no comparison between our Crossfires and a Mustang. But, if you have to rent a car, this is not a bad way to go. The back seat in the Stang is about as useful as the back seat in our Crossfires.

I don't know about the Mustank, but living in Sacramento is great! I get that drive up to Tahoe whenever I want. The only problem is the traffic. I just don't get to open up the xfire like I want. To enjoy the scenery we take the girlfriends VW. Yes it is gorgeous...in the summer. Glad you got to see it.
Between the new Camaro and the new Mustang I've had a tough time this year. If I had to pick one I'd pick the Mustang. The Camaro is just too big and the Mustangs all sound so good. In the end the Crossfire won out. There's a ton of Mustangs, more and more Camaro's on the street and I rarely see Crossfire's anymore. Its getting like it was 2-3 years ago when you didn't see them that often. Can't believe I've had this car over 4 years now and I'm still loving every minute of owning it.
32 MPG for my crossfire! This was when the car was a little over a year old. I haven't checked it recently.
I calculated it on a 300 mile trip from San Antonio to Dallas. Nobody on the road so no slowing down or speeding up... just cruise set at about 75MPH (speed limit is 70MPH). Had the A/C on for half the trip.
Checked the gallons used (based on how many gallons I pumped in to fill it back up) and the mileage on the odometer. Couldn't believe my calculations!
So now I ask the government and current administration who seems to know what is best for me and everyone in this country (because they said we are not smart enough to know what is best for us so they have to make the decisions for us). Does 32 MPG qualify as a clunker??? Because I heard the crossfires were on the clunker list.
