Borla vs. Maganaflow? Which do you guys prefer?
So, some time in the future, I want to get a muffler. From which company, not sure. I love Borla, but Maganflow is really good. I know a Magnaflow muffler is much cheaper than a Borla but I dont know which one sounds better. Does anybody have a Borla muffler or system on their crossfire? I'm looking for a deep, smooth sound, so would that be Magnaflow or Borla? Which do you guys like? Thanks!

Not a fan of Magnaflow on these cars, so I went with a Hooker Aerochamber. A lot of GN guys run these and I think it sounds awesome! It can have some drone, but I think that is with every aftermarket muffler. Very euro sounding IMO. Really it all depends on what you like though.

Yea, I found the Borla on youtube, the one that max posted up, I just didnt know if that was really Borla or not. I checked out the Hooker Aerochamber that distantpulse has and I loved it! Deep european sounding. I might go for that as its a little deeper than the Magnaflow or Borla.

Hey distantpulse,
I like what you're saying but I got one more question. Does the Aerochamber muffler sould like those large tubular mufflers with an opening the size of your head that guys put on ricers or no? Cuz I hate that sound. If it sounds like a deep, smooth Euro sound, thats what I'm looking for. I watched the link you sent and I like it, just wanted to see if you could explaing a little more. If you've heard an Alfa Romeo 8C on youtube, that's the sound I'm looking for, or close to it. Thanks!

I have a custom set up with a Magnaflow muffler and a Magnapack, plus a rear cat delete. It's sounds so cherry!! Way deeper then all these sound clips, I will make a clip for ya tomorrow.
Borla sells Universal Turbo Mufflers. I guess it's just their way of saying mufflers maybe haha. I know there is one that has dual outlets so I might go with that. I was just hoping someone had just a Borla muffler so I could hear it, but I guess not haha. Thanks for the help though!

I wanted to give a follow up on this because its kinda tough to tell how they sound unless you are actually standing next to a car with a particular exhaust to get that exact sound. I went with a Magnaflow because I like the look, those big oval, polished exhaust tips are mean looking. Mine went on Saturday, my son did it in about 25 minutes, said it was the easiest he's done. It was done with a floor jack and jack stands. I think it looks wonderful. Sound wise there is a drone in the coupe (I have heard its different in a roadster) around 60-65 mph. Its not a big deal but If you are use to peace and quiet you may not like it. I like to hear my engine, my stereo has more than enough to compensate. I'm not sure about the tone yet. I go back and forth on that. I did make an attempt to hear it prior to buying and did hear, several over the phone. I am now convinced you should hear it in person. So unless you are sure I'd hold off. I'd probably still buy it because it looks great. Good luck with your decision.
