Whats our powertrain worth?
It has occurred to me that a lot of the expense of a V8 swap can be staved off by selling the stock engine. What do you think a Crossfire engine and transmission is worth from a 2004 with less than 50K miles?
you would probably have to stop by a salvage yard that specializes in selling motors and trannys...get an estimate, but I would think that price would be all over the place, especially with the ecu and all...
Over in Lantana's V8 swap thread he was saying Beckman can 're-virginize' an ECU to mate with a different VIN - clean slate more or less. If I remember correctly, he said they do it for $250.
This is amazing news, especially for us NA guys waiting for FI applications. Being able to basically mate an SRT ECU to an NA and get it to read boost - PROGRESS....
