Default 1998-2002 W210-Type E55 AMG 5.4L V8

How much boost can this engine withstand and how much horsepower would it put out with said amount of boost? Looking to use rear mounted turbo or twin turbo. 500 horsepower is the goal. A 500 horsepower Crossfire should be enough to drag the names of Italy's finest through the dirt.

This is a different engine than the MB M113 V-8, right? A 500 hp Crossfire would be deadly...

A 500hp crossfire is deadly...ask ImportLabSRT...or better yet, search for turbo crossfire and behold.

nothing new

Properly built, the M113 engine should be able to take up to 3 bar. This is equivalent to 1400hp.

Of course, this means wet sleeves, 8:1 compression pistons, new forged rods, dry sump oil pump, 1500cc, larger oil squirters, upgraded head studs, 3-layer MLS head gaskets, etc.

So the motor will last 5-6 full power runs before a complete rebuild is necessary, but you did ask.

Haha I didn't know that the turbo crossfire worked, i just thought it was an attempt. Does Teck-9 want it for racing or just daily driving? How much hp does a stock M113 engine yield?

Depends on your definition of work for now... did it make boost yes, did it make a lot of power yes, 506rwhp on a Dynojet. Is it fast...ridiculously.

It did have some issues originally at the drag strip with the stock torque converter not pressed for enough hp/rpms so Bryan could only build maybe a 1lb of boost on the line...that issue has been resolved and he will be at the private Eurocharged track day testing it out if I were to guess...then we will know how fast it is in the 1/4...10s? maybe. 11s? I definitely think so.

However, as another point of reference it walked a Viper (buddy of Bryan's) on the highway...badly.

I also saw it break the tires loose at 80mph right after the build was done, only to be severly wrangled in by the traction control (whoops)

The engine I'm talking about is the M113 V8. Stock is 350 HP. How much boost can that engine take without having to mod it? I just wanna do a M113 5.4L V8 AMG swap and turbo-charge it. I don't want to do any rebuilding in the near future. I just wanna know how much boost that engine can withstand without being modded.

Why not just go with the 211 E55 motor...........it already has a blower and is right at 470hp bone stock and that number can easily be raised a lot higher with mods.

the 211 is roughly 3500 to 4 grand. The 210 is worth less than our engines and pulls 350 stock

How much do you think it's gonna cost for at turbo setup, fabbing parts and tuning everything on a 210 motor that's not built for boost in the first place?

The M113 V-8 is 5.4L and only makes 350 hp? Thats horrible. Aren't most V-8's at that liter capacity making horsepower in the 400s?

a hell of a lot more than it would cost to turbo a car already built for boost...this goes back to the old debate...
