Ok... Um.. By "Division", I meant in the calendar, not in the club. I didn't understand why we would want/need to have two calendars, and neither did I understand the reasoning the discussion. As a newb, it looked to me like it was the beginning of some "us and them"... That was all I was saying.

I've not been on the board very long, and been a member of CICCI an even shorter amount of time, so maybe I should just keep my mouth shut

Please note:
The calendar idea was originally presented by Tom2112 a couple years ago.
This was the idea of one single individual from the start.
Now Tom is also a member of CICCI and was interested if CICCI members would like him to put together a "club" calendar or .org calendar or both.
No big deal really and remember he is the one who invented the idea of a calendar so he is entitled to poll club members for there responses and decide accordingly.

Poll Question posted at CICCI:
Should this year's Crossfire Calendar be a CICCI Calendar or open to all at .org or do both (two calendars)?

Gary,
First let me start by saying that Tom2112 has done a terrific job with the calendar and I hope he continues to do so. I greatly appreciate it. The problem as I see it, is that crossfireforum.org members were not able to vote on the CICCI poll? Plus, I went away for a couple of days this week and didn't see the poll. When I got back Friday it was already closed
You have the power to make this fiasco go away and I hope you use it,
Thanks

WOW!

I appreciate all of the interest in the calendar this year. I did in fact post a poll over in the CICCI forum to fish for opinions on whether to do one or two calendars.

Normally, I would have initiated a call for photo submissions by this time of year. It's important to get an early start so people can have them in hand not only for the new year, but as Christmas presents as well.

Unfortunately, I'm not going to have time this fall to put the calendar together.

So I am going to ask that someone else pick up this ball and run with it. I will be back next year, but I simply don't have time this year.

Tom,

If no one else insists on taking over, I will do it. I bought 3 calendars last year and they were great but the website has completely slipped my mine. Any info would be appreciated. Please reply or PM. Since timing is becoming a factor, I may have a solution to make things work out in time.

One thing I would like to see is some simple info on each month such as, name, screen name, city, state, year of car, etc... ALL OPTIONAL.

James

I would not mind doing the calendars if we have enough interest to cover the printing!!!

Deb, I think there is plenty of interest in the calendar. The funny part of the discussion in this thread is that every member posting on this thread is a member of CICCI. All the cars that made the calender are CICCI members. We now have over 200 members at CICCI, and 99% are from this forum. All of them are supporters of this forum. The most active members of this forum are CICCI members. This could explain the poll votes. This could very well be a moot point.

You might want to check with Tom. He can tell you how many sold, and the web site we used to sell them.

I just played around with Cafepress and I don't see a problem with creating a calendar or two, so more members can be involved. Just like last year, we can do a large one and a small one. I would like to see a cross section of coupes, roadsters, SRTs, and colors. Car group shots welcome.

I will do the project if no one objects.

Here is what I want to do if I proceed. Your opinions are welcome and required!

Each member interested will submit TWO of their best high resolution pics. I will print each pic out and have a group of non-Crossfire guys rate them. They will be rated for overall clarity, composition, type & color of car, and backround. ( I am not familar with posting and rating pics for a contest ) As I see it, the pics will be judged on the quality of the picture, not whose car it is since they are not members here. I know if mine makes it, I will not hear the end of it.

Optional text will be added to give info on the pic as stated in a previous post.

Say yes or no, time is running out.

If no, then someone else can run the contest as in years past - no problem.

CafePress sells them direct to you for $16.99 for a 11x17, and $21.99 for a 17x22. I am sure shipping is extra.

I believe that Cafe Press is the company Tom has used in the past. The nice part about using them is I don't think you have to put up any money to organize the calender in the first place. Just submit the photos and set the parameters and they print them as one off's for each order. This may explain the higher cost.

We helped Tom last year with a little layout and design support. If you need our input just let me know.

TBIrd, I actually made a calendar of my own just messing around at CafePress. What layout and design support are you speaking of?

Just curious, everything looked pretty self explainatory. James

I count 1 yes.

Anyone else?

For the cost, the quality is better than most calendars that are custom made.

I used to have a T-Shirt store on Cafe Press. While things are a little more expinsive, you don't have to do minimum print runs and therefore no one is out of pocket.

The Store owner sets the "mark up" above cost and gets to keep the difference (if there is any).

Might I suggest that if there is any "Profit" that its donated to .ORG to help with the costs of running it?

Just a suggestion!

Otherwise, I'm in for 1.

Can someone verify the owners screen name of this pic? Thanks.
