Dollars and Sense?
I have once again started my search for a Crossfire. Original choice was a convert, but now I am thinking coupe. I love the put the top down, let the wind blow through my hair dream. But the fact is, in Texas there are limited days that the top can be dropped and enjoyed....just to darn hot. I also must confess that I like the looks of the hardtop coupe better than the convert.
So here is my question, I want to purchase new, I would like the life time powertrain warranty. What would be a fair price to pay to purchase a new 2007 or 2008 Crossfire.
If you also have a lead on a dealership who has new Crossfires in inventory, please pass along the information, it would be appreciated as well.
Thanks in advance,
J

Let us know how things turn out.

IMO, I'd say you might be waaay too positive. Why not consider a pre-owned Crossfire?... maybe even an SRT6? You could find a good, low-miles NA for about half the money, and buy a four - maybe even seven - year bumper-to-bumper extended warranty. Just something to consider.
... in dollars and sense.
BTW: I live in hot, humid Florida and wouldn't be without the roadster. No way.

Don't forget, you can always put the top down and turn on the A/C. My favorite time of day is dusk to dark. You can always put the top up on a convertable but can not put the top down on a coupe. I do love the lines on both though.

I would think from about Nov 1 - Apr 1 would be the time to drive top down in Texas depending on what part you live in.
There's a lot of peace of mind to be had with that LPW. In Dec. '07 I bought a new '07 6 spd Limited for $23K & still feel like I robbed somebody. In January '09 I picked up a brand new '08/auto/nav (almost zero miles)....some kind of weird deal ....no LPW just the 3/36....but I only had to give $17K.

Total stickers = almost $75K.....for $40K.........I love recessions!!!!

**** Bournival Dodge in York, Maine, has six 2008's in stock. See their inventory at Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep dealer Dick Bournival Dodge located in York ME
I just received an Email back from Spring DCJ. They quoted a E-Price of $23,938 which is a discount of $15,388 off of the MSRP of a coupe.
I also have a local dealer who says he can get me prices on 3 Crossfires from a dealer that just closed their doors. They show to have two 2008 vehicles, 1 coupe and 1 conv. As well as 1 2007 conv. He said he will get me some firm numbers tomorrow, but was thinking the 08 conv would be between $25K to $26K. I guess I will have a better idea where these stand tomorrow.
Thanks for the imput and leads so far.

I shopped really hard and paid $2k more than I had to for the car I wanted. Bought an '08 Coupe w/a six speed. My research tells me it might be the last 6 sp. out there. Paid $23k. Could have gotten an '08 w/an automatic for $21k. One dealer wouldn't go under $24 k for anything. A new '07 sold recently on ebay from a CA dealer for $19,999. Likely for the same reasons you state, I went with the coupe. Had a convertable (different make) here in Vegas, and just too darn hot in the summer and too darn cold in the winter. Not worth the extra noise and future maintenance/problems. If your looking for presence, looks, and point and shoot drivability, for the price I am certain there is nothing better out there.

If I had the financial ability to purchase a new one I would have, the lifetime powertrain warranty seems like a fantastic deal as long as Chrysler stays afloat.
That being said I am very happy with my 2006 model I purchased for 12K with 21,000 miles in like new condition.
