Wait time
I was wondering what the average wait time has been?? I waited almost three months to the day.
My friend is now on the list ad they say Feburary... i told him he should just wait out the SRT in may.
The numbers DC said they were going to sell seem like should support no wait... whats the deal with that?

I had no wait time at all. I went to the dealership, they were rolling a red one off the the truck (6 miles), I said, "I'll take that one", negotiated a price, and drove off in it once it was through detail.
No wait time here. I walked into my Chrysler dealer and they only had one. I had wanted a red one with 5 speed auto-stick. The one they had was Alabaster with the tranny I wanted.... The awesome alabaster thing to the left of this post is what I drove home 2 hours later.

Wait time? The day I bought, I was choosing from 10 unspoken-for-cars in two dealerships about 15 miles apart. That didn't count the two SSB demos the owner and his son of one dealership were using on a daily basis.
Those same dealerships continue to have, between them, 8 to 10 on their collective lots on any given day.
AND one of them is selling new 6 speeds for $29995.
Don't know where your friend is, but that discount would more than offset air fare...

Hmm, my wait time? How long ago were the first pictures of the production model released? :P I waited about 2 months after they were released until my dealership got their second one in. Could have got it at another dealership, but wanted to get it from this dealership since they are absolutely wonderful people to deal with.
so whats the problem in San Antonio...
we have 5 dealers in a 40 mile radius and only 3 cars on the all the lots combined. Including mine, they have sold 9.
There is a wait, not to be confused with a "list", if you want a ssb or auto.

I waited for about two weeks after they were released.
I contacted three Dealers in Sep 02. Local, one in Jacksonville and one in Orlando. The Jacksonville Dealer got the car first car in June - A black 6 Speed, but wanted 5K over list for the car- told him I wanted an automatic, he said he would call when he got one. My local Dealer had called me the day they were relesed and said he had two coming in the first week of July, both 6 Speeds - I turned him down at first but, after talking to the Jacksonville Dealer, and joining this Forum, I decided to take what I could get - the next day I called my local Dealer back and told him I would take the first one he got. My local dealer offered me a car at list, so I went with him, although I wanted an automatic - both had 6 Speeds and didn't know when they would get an automatic. After driving the 6 Speed for few times I decided I had to have the automatic and by then (late July) more cars were avaialble. When the Crossfire was first released many Dealers added 5k or 10K, so I figured list was a good price. They didn't sell. There weren't many around and Chrysler wasn't giving out any info on shippments only promising each Dealer who signed up at least one (rumor was 8,000 cars Vs 10,000 Dealers) . A month after they were released there were Crossfire all over Florida. In Aug I traded the SSB 6 Speed for an automatic. Paid my car + the list difference. A good Deal for me, A Naples Dealer had several automatics and wanted a 6 Speed. About a month latter the Orlando Dealer called me offering an automatic - "under list."
So It depends on where you are and what you want. If you are willing to shop around and take a trip, you can find one easily. Its also very much fun to drive your new Crossfire home, so buying out-of -town is probablly a better - if you have the time.

Walked into my dealership in Aug looking for a Seabring cvonvertable, as the Crossfire sitting on the showroom floor. Came back the next day, test drove it and bought it. Picked it up 2 days later, on a Saturday.
Paid list.
