Don't go cheapy on this car! I say stick with the Continentals. I think I bought all new 4 tires for 900 total after tax and installation. The backs were about 50 dollars more than the fronts.

Yokohama ADVAN S.4. (Ultra High Performance All-Season)

$864 for the set at Tire Rack. For about the same price you can get the Contis, or Goodyear F1-AS. But these are rated the best out of the three.

Boy, I think we are being ripped off for tyres in OZ, I got quoted $750 per tyre for rear Conti's, and $650 for front.
The originals lasted for 37000Kms ( 23000Miles), so given the price of the Conti's, I bought Kuhmo's which were $420 rear and #350 front, and they lasted 15000Kms ( 9000miles).
I'm now trying Yokohama's which are $538 rear.

Cheers
Terry

Generals get pretty good ratings. Check the Tire Rack. Lots of info there.

That's a lot of sheckles for any of them. Does Australia have a value-added tax?

I'm a big fan of Falken FK452. I got the whole set (19's and 20's) for ~ $800 delivered.

Ratings, reviews and specifications for Falken FK 452 tires

Can anyone recommend a run flat tire for the Crossfire, both front and rear?

I got a set of 4 Toyo Proxe 4 tires installed for $850. I had to haggle a little bit, but they were awesome. They are GREAT tires, great tread pattern, and ALL SEASON which is a must here in Michigan.

I previously had Goodyear Eagle F1 A/S and while they were good, they lasted ~12k miles and cost me $1200 out the door.

Yikes!!

I'll be sticking with the TOYO PROXE 4 from now on..

I just put two new General UHP Exclaims on the rears today. $205/tire. I have had the General's on the front for six months and have no complaints. I had Michelin PS2's and they barely lasted 10,000 miles (I'm glad I only paid $105/tire for them).

FP you have Generals on yours? I thought that I saw that somewhere. Like them? I have Conti's now & the back are almost gone the fronts are weather checked. I don't know how many miles they have on them, were on when I purchased it 14000 miles ago.

It was a one time deal. Costco had a snafu on their website about a year ago.

If I was a lot stronger I would have been able to throw the Conti's much further. I don't understand how not using Conti's is cheaping out? I like checking the reviews on discount tire .com I like a tire that holds the road and lasts a long time. I got really good wear from BFG G force KD's but am now running Yokohama Advan S4's and love them. I jumped a size up to 265 in the rears and 235's on the front on 8.5 and 9.5 width wheels. I had Nitto's INVO's and they were great until they got noisy with cupping and were bald in 10 months. I have also heard really good things about the Generals and tried to buy them but they didn't have the right sizes available for my wheels.

They can be hard to find for the rears, but the place I bought mine from had them in stock luckily.

Discount Tire could get them no problem but I am not running the same size wheels as most of you. I have 18's all the way around and They just didn't make the size comnination I needed.

Continentals are over rated. I have Nankang NS-II's and they hold that asphalt like no other!
