Default Color vs. Condition

I am searching for my second Xfire. I currently have a coupe and would like a roadster. I have read the posts on color etc. But since I do not want to spend the money on a 2008, I am left with a dilemma. Just curious what some of you would say. Would you select color over condition or just the opposite?

I understand this is a "nature vs. nurture" issue. Just looking for some thoughts.

PS First Xfire I choose condition over color.

I chose my first one on color AND condition. Now IF I could not find the color I wanted in the condition I wanted, I would take condition over color. But that is know how great this car is. Even a BLACK one would be acceptable to not having one.....

Gotta chime in here and say condition over color.

Regarding color.....
what color(s) do I not want?
what color do I want the most?
which is the 2nd color?

Especially in today's economy and with limits on certain available XF replacement parts, I would rather get a low mileage/excellent condition car and then find my ideal color..... wherever it may be.

Good luck in your search for your second. I want to be in that position one day soon!

That's a tough call Mike but I'll have to agree with you.

I bought my coupe because I WANTED an SRT. Turned out the color was acceptable and the condition was Excellent.

I bought my roadster cuz I wanted a roadster. An N/A was out of the question (I already have a Chevy Metro to go slow in) so it had to be another SRT. Color had to be blue. Turned out the the condition was excellent.

Things just worked out!

I thought you were a good guy Tighed, but between the constant black bashing and now the NA bashing, I am not so sure.....

I hated the gold when I first saw it, but I loved the cedar interior, and the mileage. Condition is way more important, any color will grow on you.

At least you have an option. I thought I was going to trade my truck for a sebring... turns out the guy had a crossfire.

It happened to be SSB. The dealer knew I wasn't thrilled with the color,
so he made me an offer I couldn't refuse. The color has grown on me,
and it's different because it's not really blue and not really silver,
both colors I don't care for (no offense - just don't like the colors
on anything). But SSB sure is sparkly in the sun.

I agree - go with condition. Plus the condition of the car may
be an indicator of how well it was treated and maintained.

Why compromise? Look, there are plenty of crossfires for sale. I would wait until I found a low mileage one in excellent condition in the color that I wanted. I flew from Ga to Il to get mine, and then had an 800 mile ride to get her home. That was actually the most fun that I have had with a car purchase, and one that I will definitely remember.

So, I say don't compromise, but be willing to travel to get exactly what you want. This is the only way to ensure that you make a decision that you will never regret.

I could never imagine driving a car every day..... Wishing it was another color...... Or, feeling disappointed because I compromised on condition.

Condition, condition condition when buying previously enjoyed cars. Colour is only a consideration when buying new.

Not even then when they have only one to sell and your wife says "buy it".

Have you considered an SRT-6 roadster? Finding one in excellent condition at a great deal is what convinced me to buy a second xfire.

38mpg with it floored! Second gear is shot (at least for upshifts) but I do have a spare rebuilt tranny for it. The car has a Big Block in it.
Ok, not a BIG big block but it does have a 1.6 engine swap. Now it's faster than my Suzuki Swift GTI.

It's for sale ya know. $2,500 or will consider trading for a BLACK SRT or a mint N/A Crossfire.

I would consider any Xfire as long as it is a limited roadster.
